Following on from previous thread, pony has been purchased. I now need to get down to the serious business of choosing what colour head collar to buy him. He is chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail. I use a darkish turquoise (woof wear ocean) on my liver chestnut. Not sure if that will suit the flaxen mane and tail though. What colours do you use on your chestnut horses?

Mine varies from dark to bright chestnut with the seasons, she also has a flaxen mane and tail. She looks great in dark green, most shades of blue and brown. Red is bad so is pink- purple is ok- it was my compromise many years ago with my daughters' who wanted a girly pony.

I tend to stick with the classic colours - Navy, Burgandy or British Racing Green... oh and the newmarket stripes. I find they suit most horses :) My liver chestnut looks stunning in burgandy (which you wouldn't expect!)
