What colours would suit a fleabitten/ dapple grey horse? Horse in question is fleabitten all over with dappled hindquarters and steel mane and tail. I have always liked baby blue on greys but don't really think it would suit him. He has a lot of black stuff, but I want us to have a colour scheme and am stuck for ideas. Any help?? :)

Sounds very similar to my mare!! She looks great in lilac but that's too girlie! Her navy stuff is perfect with her colourings!

mine - who is greying out more now she is 10 - has a fabulous scarlet thermatex, and cherry red zilco endurance bridle and reins. gorgeous!

As grey is a neutral colour you could put any colour on a grey & it would look good. We have a grey & his saddle cloths for shows are navy blue with a grey/silver edging. :)

Anything suits a nice grey but I try not to put white on mine as no matter how clean the horse is a white numnah is always going to look whiter!

Also have a fleabitten/dappley horse but his mane and tail are now mostly white (well, right now his tail is khaki but we won't go there). Pretty much all of his rugs are one shade or another of blue, except for a couple of purples, black and green. Blue, particularly royal, navy or a smokey grey/blue all suit him beautifully.

I also think scarlet - really bright, pillarbox red - suits greys.

Agree with this. I have a lovely white dressage square, piped with silver, and GD hardly ever wears it b/c it makes him look slightly mucky.

A bright blue, not quite royal blue but closer to that than baby blue. Black & another colour also look good. And since my daughter got to about 3/4 I've discovered she also suits purple, dark or light.

Sounds very similar in colour to my last filly and my origonal colours were always navy with silver/white piping which loooks quite stirking till i acquired a emerald / British Racing Green rug with burgunday trim and she looked stunning in that and everyone admire her in that rug

We used to have a pony this colour. When she was young and her dapples were dark, we put white on her, as she got older and went light coloured, black looked good on her.

Just about any colour suited her!

My dappled going on flea bitten is in pink! She suits it down to the ground. But pretty much any colour suits her. I quite like mint green and darker greens on greys.

i like red white and blue on my boy, or bottle green ,dark grey is nice or brown or orange or anything! love having a grey they are lush! :D
