Recently when I go to get Roo out of field, as the headcollar goes over her ear she starts shaking her head
Shes not headshy or anything, its always as the headcollar gets behind her ear (I dont fasten and undo mine like normal, I unclip the clip underneath and slide it over)

She never shakes her head out riding or anything :S So I dont know whats causing it, but it does seem like a pain response. Could there be something in her ear? Can you get eardrops for horses? I know the flies are a REAL pain at the minute, always buzzing round even though I use fly spray

Any ideas?

Yep definitely check her ears. Could be something in there, could be mites, could be some kind of infection..

Even when my dog gets something tiny like a grass seed in his ear, it drives him crazy.. with treatment he's almost fine instantly. Could be that the headcollar going on irritates her ears / reminds her about it.

Didn't know you could get mites in their ears. How Will i know? They're too small to see arent they?
Ears are never easy to check, wrong shape, but i Will try.
