Basically Mattie has had 2 weeks off, with him rolling in a patch of nettles twice! and having a physio visit and needing a couple of days off to recover from that (its traumatising for him, obviously!)
But anywho, I got on him yesterday and for the first 20 minutes, he was beautifully behaved, schooled so well and was really pleased with him. I gave him a 5 minute breather and after I had this strange pogo-ing monster, everytime I moved my legs slightly to ask for trot, he bucked/reared/span/combination of all three. Eventually got some decent walk work out of him and the bucking fits were less severe.
Today i tried him again in the school and was once again perfect for the first 15 minutes and then he errupted again, so i got some nice walk work out of him again and took him on a hack to finish, with my friend and her nice and calm, good influence cob and he was perfect for the first trot, wasn;t for the second but I think because he was behind and Mattie wanted to be in front, soon as he was in front he settled, But then he did it again, as soon as i put my leg on, but I could send him into a nice forward trot using my voice and seat aids.

To me, it sounds like a pain reaction, but his back is okay now, his teeth aren't due but will ring the dentist anyway and his saddle fits okay.
Could he have been kicked by one of his field mates, right where my leg sits and everytime I move it, or add pressure it hurts? There is no lump/heat/mark where my leg sits either and he is as good as gold to tack up.
Any ideas, from a very confused and bounced around Hannah
