Approx 4 weeks ago my physio noticed some slight heat behind my horses knee, she suspected suspensory or check ligament, wasnt lame but was sightly short on that leg. she suggested box rest for a couple of days and to get vet out if the heat hadnt gone. The patch of heat was tiny and after a couple of days i couldnt find it but still thought he looked slightly short so got vet out anyway,
vet looked at him and was 100% sound in a straight line and on a circle on the hard and the soft, scanned leg anyway and couldnt find anything, suggested box rest for another week, and two weeks of walking on hard ground. i did this and rode him in the school on sunday for the first time, was fine, completely sound and after riding leg was fine. Rode him the school again tonight and afterwards leg was swollen and alot of heat in it, was 100% sound when riding him and was when i got off!
cold hosed the leg and the heat did go down but not completely. he has been turned out but has been in since last night, ue to being wormed.
vet is coming out thursday to have another look but does anyone have any idea what it could be??
