Took my boy last week for a lesson (weds), and once we rode ride we realised he wasnt right. He wasnt tracking up, and seemed abit 'short' in his hind leg.

So trainer (who used to own him) suggested that because i had no show at the weekend to not ride just let him have go in the field for rest of the week. So we turned him out everyday until sat.

Then we rode him sat, sun and yesterday. - Still no change.
Today we are having vet out to do vaccination, so going to get him to look at him.
But i am very worried as we have had most of the last year off with check ligament injury. What should i be expecting, really stressing that im going to have to wave goodbye to this season too.
Arhhh!

Aww... I really sympathise with you. I also have the vet coming out this afternoon and I'm really scared!

My mare had an annular ligament injury about a year ago which involved a long period of box rest and then the vet opted for steriod injection to joint rather than op. She came back into work really gradually over the last 6 months and only in the last two have we really got back to normal riding.

And then last week the same leg has flared up again and she's lame.

I'm so scared it's the same thing and the vet reckons it's op time. (outwith 12month claim period on insurance, of course!

) Which means more box rest, another summer with no "fun". Just when I was planning my first "stressage" outing and some local unaff SJ.

Good luck with the vet visit, will have my fingers crossed for you.

Aww, will have my fingers firmly X'd for you and your mare aswell. Will no doubt post later on, once bet has been. We were prob at a slightly further stage to you, we have been back out bsja and we have been getting placed, and it was looking as tho things had clicked back into place with us. Hopefully both our vet visits turn out ok.

Thanks! I really hope it goes well for us both too! I think they know when we have made plans and do their best to sabotage them.

I'd only just posted off my dressage entry and had my show jacket delivered from online shop when she went lame.

I'm super busy this afternoon and evening, but will be thinking of you and will check back tomorrow for your update.
