Seeing vet but just wanted any thoughts. Have a rather anxious welsh cob who suffers from a degree of seperation anxiety. When we leave her field she starts fast and shallow breathing, sounding like she's sniffing quickly. she also does this when nervous about anything else, and particularly at the moment whilst in with mild laminitis. She doesnt cough or weeze, and has no nasal discharge. She was vetted when I bought her and nothing was picked up. Along one side I noticed today what looks like a heave line? Its only visible when she breaths in so may just be the line of her ribs, but its not as visible on the otherside. She has been back and forth to the vets for various things since I bought her in sept 07, and nothing has ever been mentioned, and she would have been doing her anxious breathing whilst she was there.
Thanks for any advice

Its difficult to say, as she tends to get anxious when in which ups her breathing rate. I don't think theres a connection. I've researched it and can't find anything other than anxiety that it could be. There was another cob at the yard last year, but much heavier than her, that used to do a similar thing when anxious. Both my ponies have had rotten luck with illnesses over the last year so I've become a bit of a hypochondriac I think

sounds like shes having a panic attact and its hyperventailating (sp?) in human terms, not sure if it would be presented that was in a horse?
