my dog is making a wierd noise and i'm not sure what it could be...its sort of like a heaving noise that dogs make before they are sick- a bit like when a cat has a furball stuck- he's done it a few times since the weekend, could there be something wrong with him? he's a 1 year old whippet and is otherwise healthy and happy...

Could be KC, they don't always all get it when living together and there is often a delay of a few days before the other one may get it. Also severity differs greatly between animals, the other one may have it more mildly and not be coughing.

Chlo does this sometimes, always assumed she'd scratched her throat on something. Wouldnt worry unless it happens lots or he's distressed xxxxx

oh thanks...i did start to wonder about KC yesterday actually... this sounds a bit strange (and possibly is something very silly) but he's sneezed a few times....could he just have a cold? (can dogs get colds?!) he's not distressed at all by it but i will keep an eye on it and if he does it again i'll pop him to the vets. the other one is fine...

Yea they can get colds/virus's my lot all had one hell of nasty coldy virus at christmas. I suspected KC but it wasn't, they all had metacam for a few days and kept in the warm, they were right as rain in under a week. Flora had it first, no doubt something she picked up from a show, then the rest came down with it a few days later. They were all sneezing and reverse sneezing and just a little under the weather generally, no temp or anything.
