Hey,

thought I woul post to see if anyone knew what this could be..

My horse has some lumps/fly bite looking things on the saddle area and are quite sore, she got the bites as I forgot to put her fly rug on one day and so stopped riding her for a few days and kept her fly rug on etc, they seemed to go down quite a bit, this was about 2 weeks ago and they had not completely gone, anyway started riding her again as she doesn't seem to be in any discomfort when ridden and they seem to have come back again.. And she has had her fly rug on at all times, so..
Do you think that the sweat and heat has caused them to 'swell' up again or do you think it could be like prickly heat or does anyone else have any suggestions?!

Any help will be greatly appreciated , I am very worried! ( but I do worry about everything!)

Not sure, but my cob had a lump between his front legs and I thought it was a bite,BUTdidnt go away after 2 weeks it wasnt a bite,,had the vet and was told it was a Sarcoid. No biggy!!!
Yours could be from a warble fly maybe??? If it doesnt go away, ask your vet.

Don't think they are sarcoides becuase they don't look anything like them or feel like them they just look and feel like bites :s also forgot to mention that she has been pretty much 24/7 stabled all her life and she is 10 and since february she has Been out 24/7 so maybe she just isn't used to the flies and intense heat an had a bit of a reaction?

Ah well I have just got her a cheap new numnah quite thick, do you this could be the cause? Thinking about it the lumps have only appeared since using this numnah..
I will change it and see what happens I guess! Thanks
