I'd love to try a bit of showing come the summer, but am wondering what I could do with my lad. He's 153cm, connie cross, rising 7. He's well able to jump (jumping double clears over 1m), but I'm not sure about working hunter. We did local ridden last year and won the class, but I don't know what else I can do with him, just to get him out and about a bit more for some fun and to add to his CV :)

Some photos. . .

Here we are doing local ridden (I know we could be more tidier and the tack could do with some tweeking)

Looks like you could do riding club pony, ridden horse/pony, mountain and moorland, and working hunter.

Have a try at all of them and see how you go on...

What an absolutely gorgeous horse. I dont do shows so I cant answer your question but just want to say he looks a grand sort.
Thanks, I really think he's great, but then I'm slightly biased

I'm in Ireland so there's not much in the way of mountain and moorland and is too big for most pony club classed (148cm) which is annoying, but I think that's the way to go, just try a bit of every thing.

go for the WH then, he jumping good clears, get him (if he doesnt already) to show off, point his toes in a trot, bring head in nicely and glide and you will be winning time and time again. btw your turnout look fine.

but it can get tight - i have seen 1st and 2nd be decided by how clean the ears were!
