For me its got to be my:

Neck warmer
Lots of towels for drying off
Wooly socks with Ariat insulated boots
Thick Ariat gloves (won them over 2yrs ago and still going strong!)
JHL Rugs
Gersemi Jacket
A seive for breaking ice in water buckets and getting the little bits of ice out

So, what are yours? :D

For the horses: the play pen!

If ground is saturated then YM likes them in so we turn out in the play pen for a run around, it means we have perfect grazing all year round and the fields are as mud free as possible.

For me: waterproof/over trousers, stay nicely dry and toasty :D

for me:
Ski socks!! Best thing I ever bought to keep my tootsies warm :
My Musto coat - it is the warmest thing ever, plus waterproof :D
Lip balm - my lips are affected v badly by weather = chapped lips

For horses - the fact that our fields are trashed anyways, its not going to make a difference to turn them out in snow :p

My Fella!

Who drive me to yard when snowy or icy and i dont like driving in it!

Poo picks the 4 acre field and mucks out when its wet and cold so i can have more time with horse

Hoses rugs off ready for washing machine and reproofing when im busy riding / groming!

Acts as camera man when needed!

The yard tap being frozen up..............cos the dappy(only) livery lady 'forgot' to turn it off properly yesterday!

It only froze for 4 days during all last winter - and its been going fine so far this winter - till dappy burd left it 'dripping' last night, when she popped in late to do her horse after I had checked round (and fed & hayed hers 2 hours after she usually comes - and I'd had no reply to her texts etc).

She said she only put it on to wash out his feedbowl!

Sorry, am grumpy - I didnt need that this morning, and am vexed as I'd hoped to fill the field tanks today for the coming week, just in case the tap froze :(

for my two horses:

* horses living out on acres and acres of grazing - i don't need to worry about not being able to turn out in bad weather, being snowed in etc & they are much happier than they have ever been too.
*Rambo and Fal Pro rugs.
*Nettex mud-away spray ... i dread to think what colour my grey would be without it!!

for me:

*working freelance - i'm lucky enough to be able to pick and choose when/where i work, so i can make the most of riding in the daylight :D
*my warm, waterpoof riding gear but especially my Musto & Mountain horse coats, Mountain Horse winter boots & Rambo fleece lined chaps.
*sharing the facilities with three friends - we all look out for each other and our horses, have riding partners & someone to share tea, biscuits and a chat with :D

For me - gloves, thermal ski shirt and fleece lined full chaps :D
For the horse - fleecy exercise sheet, and brushing boots with one fat velcro strap so it's easy to do with cold hands :D I also like my rugs to have clips on (although I hate it when people clip them outwards instead of inwards lol).

Indoor school
Pig oil
Ariat boots
Tuffa Gloves
Snuggy neck warmer
Coffee
Central Heating
Lots of snuggly rugs
Hot water :)

Indoor school - only chance I have of doing any riding.
Skiwear - I'm in a ski jacket, thermal top, ski socks and gloves, my lovely sister donated her old salopettes today so warm legs tomorrow :)

You sure you haven't stolen my bf?! LOL! Besides him...

My ski trousers, My walking socks, and my Mark Todd Coat! Oooh and the barn! Quite toasty in there, and sheltered!

The knowledge that every day is one day closer to Spring, Summer:confused::D
ps. I actually enjoy the cold weather, our winter hasn't even begun yet though.

Practically though, heated water troughs AND heated hose pipes, I could live without them but I have no intention of doing so:D

Also my heated tack room and the coffee machine in the barn (the last two are dumb though, considering that my nice warm house is only 50' away!;))
