what cross ,han x tb or id x tb

Always ID X TB you just can't go wrong!! I have never met a bad one, they are athletic, strong and good doers with fantastic temperaments!! I'm an ID fan can you tell!!!

Hmmm, I have a WBxTB and a IDxTB (WB is not Hannoverian though, she is by a Dutch WB)...

Both horses have their plus point and their negative points. For dressage I would personally say the WBxTB everytime, but you see a lot of IDXTB eventers and jumpers (saying that my WBxTB was bred as an eventer by a SJ stallion

). It all depends what you want to breed from your mare really

The IDxTB has a good temperment, whereas the WBxTB can become very hot very quickly. The IDxTB comes down as quickly as she goes up.

I think on saleability ID x TB, but like any other breeding it needs to be a good sort. If you had the movement in the Han x TB then I am sure this would also find a market. ID x TB have a reputation for being sane/trainable with a decent jump which is why they are popular.

Probably the IDXTB for more saleability, BUT they can be sharper. The worse tempered/mannered horse I've ever met was an IDxTB though - lovely looking and TBH I think he had been made that way by humans......

Completely agree about them being sharp... and when she came to me she had dreadful manners. She knew she could use her size...

I like wb x tb but then I'm not an ID fan

*don't shoot me please!!*

I love wb x tbs, I have 3 of them although not strictly half and half, one of them has the most amazing jump (Dutch wb x wbxtb), one is good but sharp (wb x sfxtb) and the other is a yearling that should be a fantastic jumper as mum jumps well (tb mare by Handsome Sailor) and father is Grade A international jumper (dw).

Sadly I agree re. the CB traits, I had two and was closely connected with a third and whilst all unrelated all had the exact same stubborn traits which were more than enough to offset any good points they had.

I think you'd have a real problem to sell one unless there was an enthusiast wanted it, and the question was which would be more sellable!

Problem is I have yet to come across a stubborn one!!!

I would not consider a horse that did not have CB in it - but there again I am fanatical about the breed!

Me too, but sadly the CB/TB cross have had a lot of bad press and so for saleability they wouldn't be the best.

Everyone is really shocked when I say that my horses have got CB in them (even if it's only a little bit), as if that should be a reason for them NOT to be successful.

I have a 4 year old id x tb and a hannovarian mare. If i could mix her ability with his boldness i would have the perect horse!. She is lovely but a bit nappy sometimes (a trait) he is just well a typical 4 year old but is showing huge promise. My trainer says he is an eventer through and through and she a Showjumper (get expensive with memberships)
Having both id say a mix of both.

Useless eh!

I have an TB x ID mare who's really athletic and very straight however a little sharp to ride but excellent at jumping. I bred a colt out of her by a Han stallion and he is really stunning and reguarly jumping 5ft bars out of the field (showing good potential lol) I think all three are great breeds, so am afraid im very unhelpful.
Be greedy have all three!!!!

I too have had both tbxhan ad currently have a 3/4 tb 1/4 id. The id cross is a big horse and has taken a long time to mature, he is 8 this time and only just working out where to put his feet. When he is a bit more world wise he will be very saleable and will do any job and is a very nice person to do as well.
The hanx was a star did extremely well showing and is now pony clubing with a 14 yr old. His biggest problem was that he was a cocky devil and too clever by half- he learn't changes in canter by watching the sj ponies schooling and now won't go across the centre line with out changing leg- monkey!
