i have a lovely lemieux lambswool pad thingy, had it over a year but dont wash it much as doesnt need it. washed it the other day, on a wool wash with non bio liquid and rubbed hair conditioner in as instructed and two massive tuffs of wool have come out leaving bald patches :(

what did i do wrong?

don't know.. I've had mine for the last 2.5 years and its been washed frequently (full numnah) either with wool wash and/or hair conditioner and come up fab every time, in fact the only bit starting to disintegrate are the nylon girth protector bits.. perhaps it got caught in your machine?

Ditto Ester. I have had a couple of their half pads and a lined mum ah which have been regularly washed as you described ( they go direct onto the horse's back as I don't use a saddle cloth unetneath them) and they are still as good as new.

oh okay, as long as i know they usually wash well then maybe i didn't do something quite right. i did put my brushing boots in as well but they were velcro'd up. there was loads of wool in the washing machine and had to clean it out too. maybe it got caught or something:(
