What did you do/buy for your horse today?

I too do not get paid until next week :( however I spend 2 hours filling pot holes in, in the horses field after she kindly decided to hoony around yesterday... On the other hand her horsey advent calendar arrived today :D

Bought feed , supplements and treats today which came to £140. Earlier in the week had the vet and farrier out to the tune of over £200. Eek expensive week!
Can't let OH see this!

Horsey advent calender? That sounds fab - where would you get such a thing?

Chazza44 I am a sucker for that sort of thing, they are made by Lincoln .. You can find the on eBay :)

ohhh, i like the sound of that... will have a look :D

Whilst at the saddlery I bought a lovely body brush... as planned, and also got a body pad (microfibre) in shocking purple to buff him up :D (yes it was a VITAL purchase) and a ride on waterproof saddle cover. I then got up to the yard and mucked out my brand new pellet bed :D forgotten how satisfying it is to have absolutely NO WASTE. Went to get Ben in and he was stood head down bum to the driving rain... it took 5 calls to get him to even look at me... I started to worry he was poorly :( but he was just so ticked off with the weather, he trotted down and was in by 2pm. Had a good groom and 'buff' :D but I wasn't happy as his rug had leaked through... its just such bad weather :( so he was wrapped up toasty and had his dinner... by the time I left the yard even my bra and pants were squelchy!:mad::mad:

Bought for them, er nothing, am broke having had 1tone TWP arrive last week and a trailer worth of hay the week before! Took them out for a lovely hack though which they loved - they haven't been ridden all week (bloomin' work!) and enjoy getting out and about. They are now in and munching, it is horrible out!

I officially bought my ponies today :D :D two mini shetties... Very cute!! Payday isn't til next week, so I'm currently feeling quite poor!

No money spent but lots of energy expended.:)
Washed legs and feet.
Helped friend keep hers calm whilst she treated his mud fever.
Sprayed with anti fungal mix.
Insisted on hugging him because he pretends to hate it.
Gave him he's apple.
Poo picked...found some worms:eek: yuk!
Groomed and fed.
Then returned to nice dry shelter only to have him trot straight back out through the mud.

Now deserving a well deserved cup of tea :)

congratulations :D

a shocking expense  they are really expensive this year... the only swedes I can find are the size of my fist and 65p... wont even get one for myself to eat... I can find any large ones for ben to chase around his stable this year :(

Bought - bucket for feet/leg washing with hibiscrub, sponges and baby shampoo

Both boys usual fed/mucked out/nets/etc

Bee - legs washed thoroughly, sore bits washed with hibiscrub and sudocream applied (looked very happy at having that done), tucked up with deep beds, full nets and lots of cuddles.

(Poor husband did the trips to the Muck heap for me!!)

Yep queenbee must admit they are pricey this year, he must think himself lucky! Although he is still basking in the luxury of his new fal pro from yhl so has set his standards high ;-)

I love fal... Im waiting until I can say for sure that ben wont grow anymore and then Im going for something super expensive for ben :D I really like the look of the PE rugs though :D

Chucked hay into daughter's pony who'd come in last night to let legs dry out.
Hayed early this am as frosty...dismayed to see field-sharer's mare had trashed the electric to try and join in my boys' hayfest...beyond repair there and then so put tidy for return.
Usual stable chores and tidy up outside. Brushed off dry legs then greased heels and pig-oiled.
Bought: Hay; batteries for fence energiser and another leccy gate hook and 'Buck boots' for OH.
Cleaned chaps.
Re-proofed rug.
Tacked up daughter's pony and she rode him back to field. Friend gave me an outgrown pair of mountain horse overtrousers for daughter yesterday, which she wore and was super warm dry and comfy in yay.
Mucked out and put straight for youngster to come in later.
OH and I stumbled about in the Somme and p***ing rain doing a complete repair job on the leccy fence and created a new mud-exclusion zone (ha, in theory anyway). Rugged up youngster and OH walked him home.
Hayed the others and actually had to laugh when field-sharer's mare broke through our newly repaired fence yet again (fortunately she only broke the 'gate'). Gave up entirely trying to do anything about it and put fence back as it was.
Stuck youngster indoors where he has a face full of hay currently.
Have no other horse-related plans other than to glance in with head torch and close stable door at some point.

I rode A this morning them mucked out all jobs done. Went home Rode J and jumped
Him over plastic flowers in prep for WH next weekend!
Walked dog, then went back to yard to put A away, then back home to put C and J away
Bought 2 bags of feed aswell :) now I'm going a friends party-
So tired!

Molly had her first ever clip! After 10 mins of pratting about she finally stood like a pro.. Head down and fully relaxed... What a good girl:-):-):-)

Well I am unable to ride at the moment due to hurting my pelvis a couple weeks ago.
So yesterday I bought some bedding and a bag of barley along with a stable rug for when she gets clipped. Today I bought her a headcollar and some kind sole who turned mare out for afternoon turnout slot left her headcollar on (No idea why as i have always said to take it off as she no hassle to catch etc) and she got stuck to the fence. Thankfully she is fine and never got hurt and headcollar in bits but not fussed as I could of been spending more money on a vets bill.

I bought some roofing sheets and then persuaded OH to help me finish the field shelter which has taken the majority of the weekend:

Just got to tidy up the sides, finish an internal partition and contemplate whether to put doors on....it may not be pretty but it is solid and cosy - and with the exception of the roof I have built it all myself so am pretty chuffed!

Other than that I have been quite restrained and just bought horse feed and carrots. Farrier due in next couple of weeks and an expensive December ahead with birthdays and Christmas so there will be limited horsey shopping now (I promise!)
