What did everyone do with their Horses today?

I got there at 9am and gave her a very small net, whilst I went to chat with my friend. At about 9.20 I groomed and tacked up. Went on an hour and 45 min hack with friend. Got back, gave her a quick brush off and rugged her up and turned out. Did my jobs. Went to field to check she wasn't too warm, poo pick field. Went home. Went back up about 4.45 and brought her in.

I went up at 8am to give my girl breakfast and check that her bandage had survived the night, brought I her in at 10am for a hay net and to take bandage off (silly girl had cut her leg, so has had to be poulticed and bandaged) all swelling had gone down so hand grazed her to let the air get to her leg, cleaned the wound then re bandaged. Visited her a few more times then went up at 4pm to give her dinner, swap rugs, give her a big kiss and and cuddle then put her back out for the night! :)

We went out for a hack at about 11ish to the local stubble field were we did schooling and a few sneaky dressage moves on our chunky cob :) Then brushed her off, rugged her up and then turned her out. Then att half 4ish she got her tea :)

Put her in the field. Mucked out. Brought her in.

Had a horse free day. It was lovely :)

ETS: I put them out about half eight and got them in at five. I didn't just put her out for the ten minutes it took to do the boxes :p

He got chucked out 1st think with his field buddy (not by me, I don't 'do' mornings :D). Brought in at 3, walked in hand for an hour then had a drastic scalping/mane pulling session as he was starting to resemble a welsh mountain pony - which isn't a great look for a warmblood :D

I went for a lovely 2 hr hack. Gorgeous sunny day, cantered up a couple of verges, saw a friend i havn't seen for ages and had a nice chat, big lad didnt miss a beat behaviour wise. Turned him out. Got him in after a couple of hours, half heartedly scraped half the field off him then put him to bed!

Just got home at lunch time from being away working, nipped up to try his new super duper Bucas stable rug I splashed out on him its so I can chuck it on him if he sweaty . Anyway dam think was too small..!! Balls

All his rugs are 6ft9" and hang off him a bit but this was nippet so gonna have to send it back for a bigger one

Boohoooo, was excited to put it on him to it felt well cosy.

Had a late morning. Brought the beasties in at 9am for brekkie, whilst i poo picked the fields. Left the boys with hay whilst i went in for my brekkie. Back out thorough groom of the big lad, booted up, tacked up, hopped on and went for a 45mins road hack. Beautiful sunny sharp morning. Got back un-booted, de-tacked, quick brush off and chucked the boys back out. Did all my washing, tidy the house, spoke to my very good friend in HK. More jobs. Back out at 5pm for evening feed, check over, brush off the shettie and pop a rug on the big lad. Release them back out.....ahhhhh

Went to get him in from field to ride about 11am, removed all the mud (there was lots!) and went out for a lovely hack up the hill. He was full of it today, must have been the frosty grass! Then fed him, chucked him back out and went home.

Up first thing for muck out / chuck out, then helping at riding club all morning - no competing for us until we have a new saddle!

Then back home for a lovely hack - we were ultra-brave and tried a new route with lots of traffic and scary things, down the high street, and neddy was fantastic. His confidence hacking alone suddenly seems to have taken a massive leap froward - touch wood it lasts!

Walked in hand for an hour? If you don't mind me asking. Why?

He did a tendon (badly) last year, so isn't ridden. He is completely sound and very nosy so he loves getting out and about, and we're on a huge estate so no 'real' roads :) He's an oldie so I think it helps keep muscle and topline, although he is turned out all day every day in a huge hilly field. I also just enjoy spending time with him :o :D

So glad this thread came up because I want to gush and curse.

Yesterday I had the most magical moment with my boy. Did some schooling which went brilliantly. I finished the session when my horse vanished and I found myself riding a 'cloud' (best description I can thik of. It was the softest and roundest he has Ever been. Absolutely Amazing!!!).

This morning I took him on a hack to some fields where he went Balistic!! Not out of control but extremely difficult. Reversing instead of going forward, napping to the gate and his friend, mini rearing, trying to take off at the wrong time.

(Mini rearing is folding his front legs but not necessarily going up on his back legs, if you know what I mean. No real badness, more tantrum.)

When we got home I turned him out but it was pis*ing rain so I brought him in after about 2 hours as he doesn't have a proper turnout rug.

I spent the morning clipping mine, then turned out and rushed home to have a lovely long shower to get rid of all those annoying itchy little hairs that had gotten everywhere. And i mean EVERYWHERE :o:eek::rolleyes:

Quick groom. Out for a hack with OH (who was riding some silly ridiculous bouncy thing) and me on cob (who was in a bouncy mood too!). Came back fed and chucked out.

Brought young lad in and hacked to school 15 mins away and did some trotting poles! Yey. Can back, fed and chucked out. Went back this afty to get them in and tuck them up for the night.

I once pulled one out of my nipple. I kid you not

I went on a lovely 2 hour hack around the Cotwold Escarpment, beautiful views in every direction. Horsey was perfectly behaved, met lots of people out walking. She had a full rendition of The Levellers, me having been to see them on Thurs, think she quite like that!! Not sure what anyone listening would have made of me belting out Beautiful Day to the whole of the countryside though!!

It was my turn to ride ASBO cob :) we went along a path I'd not been on before which was more like a mud river. He does not seem to appreciate that his ancestors were bred for this and at one point I was holding onto the back of my saddle hoping that he'd get through ok. Not the best of days for a mud bath! We then went on a route past the grumpy stallion and not a flicker. Next were the pigs which he'd freaked out about a few months back.. No, no bother and we even stopped to have a good look at them. Dead badger, no, that wasn't scary either. Altogether today he was super cob :D trotted when asked with a slight squeeze and only glared at baby Arab once. What a boy:D great day.

We put them out early today today. I went to catch them and the old dear decided she wasn't comming it and wound up my other horse. So they are both staying out tonight. :(

Bought new feed, re did all my various feeds, supplement boxes for the week, hunted down all my buckets to re label them, poo picked the field (first time in a few weeks.... Took 2 of us hours!) and made our own hay feeder! So proud, it's lovely and so strong! Did some grooming, OH rode and I moved trailer, did little jobs, enjoyed sunshine. Lovely day to spend pottering about at yard. And stopped at the best pub on way home for dinner! Great success of a day!

Madame was in when I got up to the yard this afternoon(she's on full livery). So I gave her a big groom and tacked her up and went on a lovely 2 hour hack lots of uphill trotting and a lovely little canter, getting her ready for hunting. Came back did her bed put her rug on, put her to bed and gave her her Haynet :) cuddle kiss and home xx

I re-clipped my big mare (2nd time in 3 weeks!), then tried jumping in a Bates GP. Saddle fitted her great, but she's very exuberant over a fence so I got walloped up the chuff by the cantle a few times - seat is deffo too deep! She schooled v sweetly too though, so I'm pleased and just waiting for my new jump saddle to arrive on Tues! Then spent an hour playing with my 3yo, grooming, mooching etc before putting the beds down and bringing in 8 more for my YO who was out competing. BS next weekend, so I'm sure she'll return the favour :D

We had a great day.

Had booked in for Adult Gymkhana - individual and team events. But, the last time we went Izzy was like Tigger on speed so I decided I needed to reduce the fizz this time.

So, at 9 this morning we went on an 1.5 hour hack on our own. Then got back and washed his legs and tail. Boxed up and went up to Adult Gymkhana.

We got 1st place in the Mug Race and then our team won the team event. So pleased. We had a fantastic day and Izzy was just bouncy enough without being bonkers. Got two 1st place rosettes, treats and chocolates. Yay!

Adult Gymkhana is brilliant fun.:D

I popped up and fed about 8 then back to spend time with oh. Back up at lunch full muck out rode B2 in school, he was very good, turned out then took B1 with ppp for long hack and found big solid things to jump. B1 was brave and keen, too keen! I was brave and it was fun! Then home to put all 3 to bed. Great day, nice bubble bath and tea now snuggled on sofa in my new eyore pjs with lovely oh and both dogs. #smug
