Had a lovely day with my friend and Poppy who is 3 today! :D So happy bithday to the Poppy puppy ;)

We went up to the horses this morning and had a beautiful ride through the nice cool woods :D

Loki was as per usual a sensible lad, Pippa on the other hand was a complete grotbag (as per usual too) trying to go for flat out gallops when asked for a nice canter  however we did learn that she can do a lovely canter half pass and a lovely canter at the pace of walk ha ha!:D

At one point Pippa got away from me a bit and practically ran into Loki's bum resulting in him getting a fright and understandably putting in a buck, it was the biggest I've ever seen him do but still not huge, luckily my friend is a very good rider so she sat it well ;) Any way after that I we went in the lead and had an interesting time with Pippa plunging, thowing her head about and doing a wonderfully collected canter at a walking pace (is that called Piaffe?) when asked to come back to walk she's a menace but at least it's never a boring ride ;)

Got back to the field and untacked them and then gave them a lovely cooling wash down, surprisingly Loki stood perfectly for it even though he wasn't very sweaty so he must have appreciated it :) Pippa is always good to do things like that to and she definitely appreciated it, being even less fit than Loki she was pretty sweaty all over

Then we went to a local country house hotel for afternoon tea out on the decking so we could take the dog with us :) Had some really tasty sandwiches, cakes and coffee while Poppy had a big bowl of cool water and a tasty birthday chew :D

Then it was back up to the field to poo pick and a last horse cuddle for me before heading home :)

The only way it could have been better is if I had a camera phone to take pictures out on our hack but a girl can't have everything ;)

What did everyone else get up to today?

Well, was supposed to go to see the ponies but mum decided she didn't want to drive me and I didn't fancy spending £40 on a taxi (£20 there and back) so i've lost out on another day with them

It's really looking like I need a moped!!

I went to a poultry meeting in London and boiled on the underground. Currently on a hot packed train home.

My husband had some friends over, had a picnic in our field while their kids played with our lambs

Grrr

First solo mini hack, did have a very nice (or mad) friend walk on foot just incase this morning :D Then gave her a really big bath and restitched up her boett (silly sod). Apart from that she's been having fun in the field whilst Iv'e been revising for exams

Sounds like the perfect day! I've been sat in an office with no sunshine & the air con on since 8am and have only just got home :( :( :(
Surprisingly I have not been in the best of moods as people walk in and say how fantastic the weather is!

But things are about to get better, I'm having a quick snack and heading out to take my lovely horse for an evening ride ! x

I was at the yard for 9am and riding by 9.30, schooled new mare for a bit and then went for a walk around the field which then turned into our first canter (she is being bought back into work) only 5 strides but considering she hasnt been ridden for over a year until 6 weeks ago and she is very green it was a big step for us. Very happy!

Aw hun that's pants! :( I think a moped or even a small car (about the same price really) might be the way to go!

It was a wonderful day :D At least you won't melt ;) An evening ride at this time of year is lovely :)

Backed my 4 yo! Separate thread to follow after mini CCW has gone to bed..:D:D:D

Ooh well done! :D Looking forward to the thread and pics :)

Funny sort of day here.
Got up early did housework and started oil some garden furniture horses came in but I could not ride because the men where coming to service my French cooker .
It took them took them till twelve and cost wait for £ 1350 yulp had a lie in a darkened room made lunch ( oh is home) decided it was too hot to ride .
Did some more furniture went shopping unloaded shopping.turned out horses tidied up , watered plants round and round in circles really.

It sure looks that way. Although if I buy a moped, I lose my horse fund and if I buy a horse I can't get there anyway
Yes, Moped it is.

Aye at least you can start saving again once you've got the moped bought :) and it'll open up a world of possibilities once you've got your own transport too :D

Great Yorkshire Show sat watching the purebred ridden irish draught class...shopping, eating, drinking, walking miles in baking sun....then got home lunged the beastie, opened a smelly haylage bale...now sat watching rubbish tv while my feet sing a merry tune!

i took mine for a wee trip round the fields before work :)

heres another picture of her posing in the field last night after we had a little schooling before heading out to play tennis (Next Andy Murray in training)

sorry if the pictures are huge...ive not mastered the resizing bit yet.

I had a day stuck in the office but took one of my golden retrievers which kept me from getting board with all he mundane paperwork. Then went out for my first hack since November. And despite my concerns about spookiness, my young lad was perfectly behaved. He thought the sheep and a no entry sign were a bit scary but wasn't daft about it. Might attempt a repeat tomorrow without company. It'll be the first time either of us have hacked alone so we'll both need to be wearing our big boy/girl pants.
Met my OH walking our dogs whilst I was out hacking, then got home to find him cooking dinner, and a glass of wine waiting for me. Perfect :-D

A very steady day for me and boyo.

Took the mini RD's to school. Stopped off at shop for milk, carrots and apples.

Off to yard. Fetch in and feed, drank tea and chatted. Took Boyo out, was too warm and the old lad was having none of it soo cut ride short. Drank more tea and took Boyo off for a bite of grass. Turned him out and headed home.

Currently sitting outside with a cold glass of vino, & looking writing a list of questions to ask at potential new yard - top of my list - somewhere to make tea :D
