What do dogs dream about?

Just watching my boy twitch, wag his tail and bark and wondering wtf is he dreaming about lol

Probably of me annoying him with baby talk cause he always barks at me for doing that. :)
 
i always wonder that, my gorgeous whippet girly never ever barks when she is awake, and I have never heard her growl, but in her sleep she howls,barks and growls :) letting all her aggression out in sleep therapy :)
 
Mine dream about chasing, nothing in particular, just going flat out chasing and/or being chased and on the odd occasion, stealing. I know this because thats what they think about when they are awake :D
 
Yes, hunting, playing, (sex?), etc.

But they must dream only in pictures, surely?

I often used to train litter mates, then for some reason one would have to be left in the kennel for a week or so. When I went back to train the one that had been laid off, I often found it was MORE advanced than the one that had had all the attention. Explain that one if you can. The only explanation I can think of is that the non-working dog had been re-enacting the training sessions in its dreams and had worked through a few problems. And that was why it was more advanced than the one I had put the more work into. Does that make sense? It happened too many times to be just a coincidence.

My dog def re-lives her walks. If she has been out with the wolves (her GSD friends) she has amazing dreams - mostly running and woofing in her sleep. If she has been playing with her best friend lots of growling and meeping and tail wagging.
