What do guys ride in if they have big legs?

So the 34" breeches arrived today and like the boots I ordered, they're also too large so I've returned them for a pair of 32" breeches of the same size. Now that I know just how stretchy they are, I think they should fit fine. I did try them on though so I thought I'd share my initial thoughts.

+ They feel very tough so should last a long time.
+ They're very warm and supposedly waterproof so I can see these making winter hacks in the rain riding very comfortable.
+ They look quite smart while retaining their practical features so you won't look like you're riding in a wetsuit (even though it may feel a little like you are).
+ Space where you need it. ;)
+ They make your backside look great! :)
+ The lining on the inside is very comfortable on your skin.
+ They seem to be made in the knowledge that the average man's thighs are bigger than the average woman's.

+/- They look like they're a slightly tighter fit than the Mark Todds.

- They smell like a wetsuit when they come out of the bag so you'll need to let them air out before you wear them.
- They have a very slight sheen due to the outer layer being 95% nylon/5% lycra. Although mine are black and I can't see this being noticeable in white or buff.

Overall I think they're very good--especially for the price I paid--and I'd definitely recommend them to any guys looking for a pair of winter breeches. I'll let you know what the 32"s are like when they arrive.

The blacks are out of production now so I was able to grab a pair here for £30 instead of £130!

I had a pair of Rugged arrive yesterday and they have come up big - fit my 18in calves though

I suprised your tally-ho's came up big, mine are at least 2in smaller round the waist than the rugged or even kingsland breeches i have. (i'm about a 35in waist and rugged feel a good 36 and the tally ho's about 34)
However the Tally-ho's fit nice around the legs and bum for a change.

BTW they are damn warm if you're out doing more than just hacking etc

Ooo! I'm all of a flutter!!

I did find the waist was about an inch tighter than an average 34 but they're quite stretchy and I'm a natural 32" waist so with the extra leg room offered by the tally hos, I think a 32" will fit well.

Thanks for the link, just ordered a pair in 34.

Could have done with them today, gale force winds and squalls. Gave it up as a bad job and took my OH to the local tack shop instead.

£90 later, I'm wondering if that was such a good idea.
