Just wanted to know what do i actually need. I know when you read about it they always add things on that you never need. I know the fencing and posts and the clips for the wire its just the part to make it live im not to sure about. I also need to do it with much cheapness!!!!

Sorry if this has been done lots of times before, Thank you all in advance!

I started off with an energiser from Scats, which was about £80 irc - although have had this about 6 years now! Also electric tape, plastic posts and connectors to join the tape up. It doesn't have to be hideously expensive, particulary if you look online as there are some very good online stores with competitive prices.

I still have the same charger - still going strong - but have upgraded to wooden posts with plastic insultators, tape and all the gate hook things. I use the remaining plastic posts (I say remaining as they do go brittle and break!) for sectioning off when I need to etc.

A fence tester is useful too, and if the land has any footpaths etc you must put up a sign warning that the fence is electrified. A lot of companies do a 'starter' kit which works out quite reasonably and will give you a guide on installation. Check if the energizer has an integral eath stake, if not you will need to buy one of these too.
For permanent fencing we put the tape on wooden posts, but for temporary paddocks/strip grazing the plastic posts suffice.
Have fun!

Can i just get my husband to touch it for fence testing?? hahaha

The woman that owns the field has a energiser and all of the signs etc. So do i have to just get a battery?
