Going shopping for the box today!

Now then, I know there have been posts on this before, but it's only a 3.5t so no living, and space is limited. What do I need to buy for it?

So far I have....

- Lunge whip (left there by the owner)
- Basic first aid kits (human and horse)
- Water containers
- Two buckets
- Step (As I'm vertically challenged I can't reach the roof vents etc!)

So, what else do I need? I have a few ideas but would appreciate everybody else's thoughts!

OK here goes what we take:

Loo rolls
kitchen towels
small towelling hand towel
spare body brush, hoof pick etc
spare bits of tack for breakages
baler twine (for emergencies)
lunge rein
wipes horse and human
bandages (a must for emergencies)
pen and pad
small tin for coins (we always ran out of change/money)

Hope thats of some help, all that will fit in one very small box.

- Lunge line
- Spare head collar and lead rope
- Basic bridle/chiffney (just incase you have to unload quickly on a busy road or something due to mechanical failure, god forbid)
- Horse shoe puller-offers (can't remember proper name, but I always have these in the lorry now since my boy half pulled a shoe off en-route)
- Boot jack for rider
- Sponge and sweat scraper
- Small travel haynets?
- Muck fork/bucket to clear up at shows

I leave on my 3.5t box, spare grooming kit, fold out chairs, muck pick, hay nets, waterproof exercise sheet, tendon/fetlock boots, water bucket, small bucket for washing stains, saddle cloth, hair nets, stock, hat, jacket, hmm think thats it

In our lorry is:
First aid kits - human and horse
Spare fuses, ropes, spanners etc
Baling twine and string
Boots, body protectors, hats, gloves etc
chairs
grooming kit
loo roll
Kitchen roll
Buckets
water containers
sleeping bags
haynets
kettle / tea/coffe etc
Plates, pots and pans
Matches
Torch
warning triangle
Lunge lines
headcollars
chiffney
Horse wash kit (scrapers etc)
Lorry breakdown cover and numbers
Money in change
Luminous jackets and tabards
Pens and paper

Urm plus loads loads more. That said its a 7.5T with living and hubby is a "prepared for anything" kind of a guy.
That said we have come to the rescue of several horse boxes and trailers who've had problems and we could solve them with our kit!

If space is limited then I would get a couple of stackable plastic crates to organise things in. Headcolar and leadrope are always useful. I have even had to lend them out before!

urm, hovis and sids mum has her life in her lorry, if I was to break down with anyone I would like it to be you!
