As a long time lurker and reader of forum posts - I was wondering what sharers as oppose to loaners expect. I have a lovely big 16:2hh Irish Draught mare who is a bit quirky in the stable and on the ground generally, but once aboard she is a dream to ride. She prefers to be ridden bitless which seems to put a lot of folks off. I have too many commitments to ride her regularly as I have a youngster to bring on and am thinking of trying to find someone to ride her for a small contribution towards her keep. I have previously advertised her for sale with no good result, but I'm worried that if I sell her she will end up in the wrong hands (or meat man as she can come across as difficult) because she can be a bit dominant and a bag. I'd like to keep her at home with someone who would effectively be able to ride her whenever they like. I have an all weather school at home, good local hacking and wouldn't mind having a companion to ride out with. Any thoughts?
