What do think? Foal handling/training.

very confused foal-what is wrong with teaching a foal to follow mum as your starting point then progressing-looks like she just teaches him to swing his hind quarters out of reach.

Oh dear, the first video I can see what she is trying to achieve but for me its not how I would go about it. The second video is disgraceful even after reading all the comments below where he explains the back ground of the horse. All the way through he talks about teaching the horse that he will not hurt him or give him anything to fear yet he hits him and bullies him into accepting the saddle rather than giving him time to figure it out for himself. I hear a fair amount of fear and frustration in his voice which is not what I expect from someone who supposedly colt starts for a living.

I always ignore bucking if a horse does it when first introduced to a saddle. Not all of them react, but some do. I prefer them to realise by themselves that bucking does not get rid of the saddle and that the saddle will not hurt them. By whipping him with that rope and by raising his voice so much the trainer makes it into a much 'bigger' thing than it is. I understand what he is trying to do; make bucking unpleasant for the horse so that it will learn not to do it, but it's not an approach I would use. The horse looks confused and afraid of the handler. I don't think bullying a horse is conducive to good relationships. The only time I would employ such tactics is with an aggressive horse if all other avenues have been tried and failed, such as with a biter or kicker.
