after reading a previous thread it got me thinking.
Morgan is a fresianxwarmblood.16.1. well muscled and fit (riding her 6-7days per week) depending on competition.no health issues. 11yrs. She carries me no prob and im approx 10and half -11 stone5ft3 (im trying to lose weight, honest (redface)haha).
my OH rides her awell and he is6ft3 and about 16 and halfstone and plays alot of rugby.. she doesnt seem to struggle and im obviously looking for the signs. but she carries on happy as larry.
anyway.. back to the question ... what do u think her limit is? do u think she is ok carrying my OH? sorry it is quite a bad pic, but the only one i had to get her full on standing still!

I would have thought 16 1/2 stone is quite alot, plus tack on top. I would say it also depends on whether you partner is balanced or bangs around (sorry couldnt think of a better term)

You know you horse better than anyone, check saddle fit and always keep an eye open for any back issues etc.

My half-Friesian mare is 14.2hh and of a very stout , cobby build. I am 5'9" and about 12 stone, I would say with all tack she's carrying close to 14 stone. She has no problems. Friesians are mighty creatures, I doubt even a wobbly OH is going to be too much for yours.

It depends on what kind of riding but for just gentle stuff I would say up to 25% of her body weight and he is probably in that.

She looks nice and strong so I wouldn't worry about your OH riding her - as long as he is balanced and doesnt crash down on her back I can't imagine there being a problem.

Of course if she shows any soreness or reluctance to go forward then you might need to rethink but in the meantime enjoy!! :D

This!

Its not all day is it

Use the 25% bodyweight including tack as the absolute maximum but the best is 20% bodyweight including tack so eg 600kg horse ideally no more than 120kg including tack so assuming tack is 1 stone plus all boots hat etc then that gives 17 stone
