how tall are you? im 6ft and Archie is 17'3 - and trust me when they are being naughty that 17'3 turns into 18'3 and its a LOT of horse.
Its movement looks average from the picture, it also looks on its forehand - certainly not what id want in a dressage horse thats meant to be graded at elementary. I definately wouldnt pay £8500 for it either.
St Bernard - with the way it is at the moment, and everyone is wanting so much money for everything they stick a few extra grand on if the horse has all 4 legs!
Playboy, I actually think he's rather nice, the advert says all the right things, hacks alone, jumps etc. I'm not put off by the first picture and it did catch my eye in H&H so maybe that was the point of using it.
£8500 isn't a mortgage nowadays to pay for a horse, if he is sensible and he's what you want then he will be worth it. Yes you will pay a little extra for his markings, but then so would I if I found a horse and it was good looking too, we all would.
I think having a frolick in the school with no rider is not indicative of his temperment, the rider in the second picture might not be doing him any favours for all we know and maybe that is why the owner didn't use that photo in the first place.
Go and have a look, it is so hard to judge from a photo.

If he really is all that, then why on EARTH use that picture?!

Thats what I thought!
Nice looking horse, but why use that picture if he's capable of being ridden elimentary with potential for advance - you would use a picture of him undersaddle! With those markings he would catch the eye anyway even under saddle.
He'll find a buyer somewhere along the lines, even if it's just someone who finds his colouring attractive. The first pic certainly wouldn't stop me being interested in him...although the price tag might
I think its a stunning looking horse but i find it hard to believe its competed at elementary judging from ridden photo - but thats easy enough to find out from BD records. I loved it from the first photo but didn't like ridden photo. I think its a case of trying it and seeing if you like it. If it HAS indeed competed at that level then its a fair price.
- Overall I would not buy a horse that big. Depends on your size I guess but personally I wouldn't want anything over 16.3hh tops.
- He is very striking indeed, not sure the markings would be my cup of tea but it depends if you want to show or not. If not it wouldn't make any difference.
- I would want to know how old the ridden picture was, and maybe ask for some more (if poss competing pics). I think it makes a nice ridden picture. He is tracking up nicely and stretching into the bridle. It is more of a novice outline though hence why I'd want more pics. Bit I found that picture encouraging.
-£8.500K is not a huge price tag.
I wouldn't be put off - I'd just want more info as to his ridden history and I'd want to see his conformation and movement in person.
I have checked the BD site and the horse does have elementary points and when it competed it was getting fantastic scores. The only thing that would worry me is that it has not competed since April 2005......why the gap?
