turning youngstock out with a herd of older horses? Ive got to turn my yearling 12hh forester out with the herd in a few months. The herd has mares and geldings ranging from shetlands to 15.2 Welsh Cobs and im scared!!!

We put all ages and sizes out together (including a yearling forrester, who's head of the herd) and had no specific problems with younger or smaller ones having a hard time or being disruptive. Try not to worry too much, they should be fine.

again - try not to worry. we have had youngstck out with all sizes and ages up to 36. the older ones really can take the younger ones under their wings and look after them, and teach them how to act in a herd situation. they also will put them nicely in their place should the youngster get too big for their hooves so to speak!
sure it will all be fine

thats on eof the best thing for a foal/yearling! it will give it the experience that they need in order to join a new herd! in an ideal world they should also be turned away with a herd of youngsters, but thats not always posible!! i understand!!!
