No, I'm very happy to say that my foals are the exact same

I don't even have to tie them up. They come galloping over when I call them, and then will stand for absolutely ages being groomed and fussed. Thats why I love them sooooooo much

I guess they are good for the rider of advanced years then, as they are unlikely to break into anything other than halt.

Now where is that wooden spoon I found? I think it belongs to you.

I'll tell that to mine in the morning then

Both my APHA mare and the QH colt can move like **** off the proverbial shovel when they choose to. The colt is turbo charged from stop to flat out in a second and his turns! That horse is destined to be a barrel horse when he grows up. The mare is as quiet as a lamb, and I have spent the last 20 years on arabs so yes, she does feel a bit slow sometimes, but ask her to go and she flies. I still adore my arabs, but these QHs are proving that despite appearances they are definately not dead. I may even keep them

at breaking into a halt........from what speed would you like that?

our horses are TB/QTR/stock horse crosses, they are on the sharp side, but they don't buck, rear or do anything nasty. O-60 is unreal and the 60-0 is even quicker with mouths like butter. We love the stock horses so much more forgiving and willing than your normal neddy.

Everything's relative. I'm sure the QH don't mind your Zimmer rattling against them when you mount.

Are you suggesting I'm stirring? No! I can't believe it!

Wake them up with an electric prod first.

Oh I love a gapped handout - 'slugs'? 'rust'? 'snails'?

That horse is destined to be a barrel horse when he grows up.
Does that mean shaped like a barrel - I've seen a few QH like that, I agree.

Check for a pulse periodically.
