Always breaches & boots...top half whatever I put on first. Horse the obvious with an optional nosenet if flies are about and a pair of front boots
Jods or breeches with half chaps and jod or paddock boots.
Polo shirt or fleece option of waterproof depending on weather and always a high viz tabard. Also always wear a hat.
He wears normal tack or now a pelham for any hack with a good stretch for a gallop, hi viz neck strap thingy and in the winter a hi viz sheet.
ETA: Body Protector if going to the woods where there are likely to be inviting logs etc to jump.
Me- One of my many pairs of jods, Chaps, yard/riding boots, T-shirt and jumper, and light waterproof jacket and fluorescent (sp???) tabard
Horse- Nomal sadle and bridle, brushing boots seem to vary day to day lol but usually have them on the back
some times fluorescent (sp) exercise sheet if raining
Jeans or jods, boots, chaps, hat and whatever top is needed! G ormally goes out in his jump saddle, snaffle bridle with either grackle or cavesson depending what doing, normally tendon boots and if doing fast work overreaches.
I normally wear jods, riding boots and an old t-shirt, my riding hat and a fluorescent tabard.
Hoss has his saddle and bridle, a fluorescent tailguard, a fluorescent noseband cover, fluorescent leg bands, and sometimes a fluorescent exercise sheet. It is irresponsible not to wear hi-viz, I would ratehr spend an extra minute or 2 putting on hi-viz and being seen out on the roads rather than go out, cause an accident and multiple deaths. It's only common sense.
ME - i wear jods, rimfrost rider boots, any tops/jumpers/coats and my target dry long riding coat when its raining.
when doing roadwork i ride in a hi-vis tabardbut if i am on bridle paths i dont, as we dont have to go on any roads usually
horse - nothing if on bridle paths, but if its raining either flourescent yellow rainsheet or blue reflective wrap around rainsheet. when doing roadwork, as i only usually do it on my coloured, i dont put anything flourescent on, but he wears overreach boots (baby-blue) as he overreaches when trotting.
I always ride in jodphurs just a habit. Never in my life have I ridden without a hat. Short boots and chaps. Sometimes if the weather is awful ride in wellies
Me: Breeches, hard hat, long leather boots (or Ariats and gaiters). I don't do Hi Viz - but I do either wear a bright pink light waterproof short jacket - or if it's awful my yellow Musto coat.
Thumper wears a leather snaffle bridle and saddle, as many boots as I can get on him - and me!
Me: Jeans or jods, boots, chaps, t-shirt, jumper/coat etc depending on weather, reflective tabbard if we're going on the roads which I don't do often & my hat.
Horse: Brushing boots or bandages all round, usual tack and reflective leg bands if going on the road. If it's cold then I'll chuck an exercise sheet on as well.
Can I just ask WHY??? Round here the only people who go out without hi-viz have a death wish!!

I just hate it - it looks so awful (don't all start shouting at me - I know). However, I do make sure that I can be seen, don't ride out when at times that it will be excessively busy on the roads, and if it is a particularly grey day then wear a bright coloured jacket.
Do you know i never did Hi Viz at first. The yard i used to help at from a young age made it feel very 'uncool' to wear Hi Viz. On a bad day we might wear a bicycle hi viz strap that was it!
Now at my yard i wear a tabard alot of the time especially if im on my own even in the summer and in winter a hi viz rug too! This started because a friend of mine was driving down the road and i was hacking up the road under the trees (it was summer and v sunny) and she said she didnt see me until the last minute because the of going from light to dark.
Made me wake up and i always wear it hackin up that bit of road in particular now. Id never ever forgive myself if something happened to my pony because 'they didnt see me'!!

Ok, your choice. I used to do that, no hi-viz but rode out in a bright baby blue coat, and the amount of times I was nearly hit was unbelieveable. When I say nearly hit, I mean (with NO exaggeration) missing my pony's quarters by half an inch, screeching round us at the last minute.
It is a terrifying experience, and ever since then I point blank REFUSE to go out on the roads without hi-viz gear, IMO it's just stupid. It won't stop all accidents, I know that, but it buys you time which is essential when on narrow, winding country lanes.
Me: jods, long leather boots or short boots and chaps, jumper/coat depending on weather and always a fluorescent waistcoat. I have a brilliant fluorescent jacket for winter too. I dont understand why people dont where high viz - i'd never forgive myself if there was an accident because a car couldnt c me and my horse on the road. I appreciate my horse too much for that.
My horse: bridle, breastplate martingale, gp saddle and fluorescent front brushing boots if we are doin road work otherwise he doesnt require any just for hacking about.
