Last month we found at at the half way point that we should've donated an item of home made baking.

So, ahead of going tomorrow I am now baking two of my "famous" ginger cakes.

Is this the sort of thing that's expected? Will it be enough? They're not tiny cakes, but if alot of people turn up they might not seem much. Have baked them in loaf tins, not round tins, so they can be easily cut in to smaller "cube" pieces instead of wedge slices as you get with a round tin.

What do the rest of you who go on these meets usually take with you?

I've never been to a bring your own meet, so don't know, sorry.

But I recon it's better to have too much than too little. And people will always love you for your great baking

I have no idea if it's a common thing or not. I might not need anything! lol

We were out with the Four Shires last month and were mortified when it was mentioned we're expected to bring something for the break half way around. We would've done had we known.

This time we're out with Vale Royal as they're meeting locally. We've not asked if we should bring anything, but it can't hurt to be prepared can it?

With the footpacks I go out with certain meets are hosted either by the staff and masters or by the field so depending on time I either make brownies (super simple and whole house smells lovely) or cheat and buy some stuff from Sainsburys - usually sausage rolls and those mini muffin boxes!!
