What do you carry when hacking?

Bleddy hell, riding out is a daily occurance, not a trip to hell, I carry nothing, maybe my fags if I get chatting.

eggzakerly - hence I only have my 'fone & fags' as they are always in my pockets anyway :D (and as said before I don't carry my Hi-vis - I wear it! :p )

Would never take car keys with me! Best off being left in safe place at yard (as anyone who has fallen off & gone to hospital, or landed on their keys, or lost them out of a pocket will tell you :)

Well I always wear hi-viz and a body protector, feel naked without both now tbh :D
I carry my mobile, mints/chewing gum, often a hoof pick, whip, fags, tissue, not incase I need to loo lol but for my nose, but if i did need the loo I would not need a leaf! ;):D

wow - some of you lot are super organised!!

If I m just doing a short hack, all i take is my mobile phone. However, I always tell someone where i am going and I always wear hiviz.

Whenever I have done longer rides (pleasure rides etc - I've also done the 58+ mile Mary Towneley Loop) I put a headcollar on under the bridle (remove noseband from bridle), put a leadrope around the horses neck, I take a head lamp, a pen knife, hoofpick, sponges, first aid kit, cereal bars etc. I bought some saddle bags which are fab, and fit behind the saddle...which also have two water bottles attached. All of this stuff fits in easily!

Riding crop, Phone, £5.00, lead rope clipped to saddle, some form of choc bar (squirrel **** type usually) head collar if going to park with cafe and loo's, always have some form of viz gear regardless of where going.

Mobile phone (in my pocket/on my person)

"Flappy" (i.e. noisy) whip

Headcollar rope as quite often we'll see a sheep on its back and have to tie up horse to gate or summat and sort sheepy out; horse wears an Endurance type bridle which is basically a headcollar & bridle combined, so easy to tie up in

And that's it really. If going in a group we make sure that someone has a mobile phone; but maybe we ought to carry a hoofpick and first-aid kit somewhere.
