What do you clean your tack with?

Another fan of GPLG... do all my tack and my boots with it...brings it all up brilliantly...have to say that I am a bit lazy and only clean tack when having a lesson or competing...but it seems to stay really softy and shiny using this. It also stops boots squeaking on the saddle...used to use the spray soap but my boots always squeaked.

well i been a member for a while on here...even if not a big poster

Used GPLG for well over a year now...and have nothing to gain by advertising it. Interesting though that there are people willing to say its good...may be some sort of campaign, but could be just a good product?

I do still use the NAF leather cream as well if i need something really rich but that does not do the same shine.

I found it by sheer chance. My saddler is VERY fussy and he likes it.

I think re people thinking its odd GPLG is getting rave reviews, if you use something and its good, then you tell your friends.
I also tell everyone how brill my Albion SLK is, also my Elevater bridles.
I wouldn't suggest a product if it was rubbish but try it yourself if you don't believe the ones that use it:)

Don't post much on here, but I do hate tack cleaning. hate dripping oil on the wood floor.
Hate it when the tack gets wet and slippery too. Also find soap froth looks horrid in the holes and around the buckles.
So when I spotted these posts just had to agree with people who use Grandprix leather Gloss.
It turned up on an other forum, over a year ago, got good reviews, so tried it and won't use anything else now.

Is it wrong that i'm suspicious of all the new members suggesting GPLS ... :D

Thanks everyone, food for thought.. how to choose who to believe?! :p xxx

Think you can only believe what you try yourself ... and as it's not expensive and seems to get such a cult following why not try it and see for yourself ?

You did get me thinking tho' so went back through the thread and found 2 of the posters joined in 2007, 4 in 2008, 1 in 2009 .... so not all new members ???

Well any thing is better than oil dripping all over the floor:D Plus all that froth and foam stuff used to make me mad. too much oil makes the leather stretch and go so soft it takes the top surface off. Plus I like to keep my white breeches white.
Nowt odd about that

Know what you mean ..... bought a second hand saddle and the previous owner had oiled it before I bought it .... bloomin thing has stained EVERY pair of breeches and saddle cloth that it's touched ! LOVE the saddle .... HATE oil !!

Sorry I haven't bothered to read all the replies but for the sake of any warranty that comes with your new saddles, use what the manufacturer recommends! All leathers are not the same and what may suit one brand may not suit another!

I have been on this forum for a while but do not post on here that often, lurk a bit and only read threads that I think might interest me or that I could contribute to.

I converted to GPLG about 18 months ago, have nothing to gain from recommending it and have found it excellent but you do have to use it properly and sparingly.

Perhaps this is my problem then - using too much? I just can't get my tack to shine and it gets sticky. Please can someone post the idiot's guide to using GPLG, so that my tack will look as good as all those people's tack who recommend it on here? Thanks!

Underside of flaps some Hydrophane and outside I still use the Glycerine bar. My show bridles are treated differently, in that on the outside I use a clear self shining boot polish and on the underside a little Hydrophane and glycerine.

clear self shining boot polish ???? mmm interesting !!! would this be suitable for bridles ??
as mines gone rather dull after i cleaned it ( something that doesn't get done very often)

i wonder do they do a sample pot of the grand prix stuff id like to try but if im not keen moneys tight and all that !!
