What do you consider essential to have in your lorry?

Not sure if anyone else has suggested it but tea towels! We realised we needed them AFTER we'd sat down for a nice cup of tea on arrival. Washed the mugs and couldn't find anything to dry them with!
 
Kettle, cups, milk and teabags :D

A supply of food, and spare kit is essential I think, so a set of dry clothes, a few horse rugs (Of different types), horse and rider first aid kit. Bandages and boots, spare headcollars and leadropes, spare twine, grooming kit.

And because I am paranoid, a tow rope and jump leads (you never know!!!).

Also if you are competing I would have spare things in the box permnenantly like girths, bits, boots. (I knew one person who competed alot and ALWAYS forgot her girth!!).

Basically everything you can thing you need or want that will fit, bring it, you can never be too prepared ;)

Also I think its handy to have a list of phone numbers pinned up, you know incase you need the vet or farrier, or someone with a tow rope, 4WD etc in an emergancy!
 
I always like to make sure I have packed my horse's brain. Have left it in the stable a few times which made for very interesting outings.;)

Actaully, Jump leads are probably essential, and some sort of man who knows about engines!

Also, big water container, horse first aid kit and Port! You know, Dutch courage and all!

I don't think all the rugs etc. are essential at all.
 
Breakdown/Recovery insurance policy
Fire Extinguishers
Long Sleeved Hi-Viz Jackets
Telephone numbers of friends and vets
Horse passports or photocopies of them
Water and buckets for horses
Powerfull torches and spare batteries
Small tool kit
Spare headcollars and lead ropes
Spare head light and break bulbs
 
no lorry, but in the truck that tows the trailer we always have spare leadrope and sensible things that husband puts in like car and trailer bits - thats his domain :o

me, I make sure theres haribo tangtastics waiting on the passenger seat :D
 
I also agree with poster that mention keeping a box of stuff that you can forget.
Girth,
A bit,
Boots,
Spare saddle cloth,
Spare stirrup leathers and irons! (i forgot them once aftertaking them off to clean the saddle)
A spare whip
A pair of gloves,
Hair bubbles!
Spare flash strap (even if your horse doesn't wear a flash, its a multi use strap :D )
A spare pair of reins
A hoof pick
Scissors
Paracetamol
A spare change of clothes is a good thing to keep in the lorry, including spare underwear!
Tampons/pads
And deodrant.

Plus a lot of other things other posters have mentioned. :)
 
Alchohol and sleeping bag + pillows so if you aren't driving you can stretch out on the sofa and have a kip on the way home!
