What do you do as an owner that is slightly 'obsessive'..

Well, MY horse refuses to be seen out in public unless she is wearing her matching Dolce & Gabbana saddlecloth and diamante legwarmers :D

Geeeeeez... some people need to broaden their horizons a bit!! Why get a superiority complex about having level banks or trimming your horse's whiskers?? It's fine if you want to do those things as your own personal eccentricities, but don't kid yourself that they constitute good horse management

If you know the correct way to do things then it's fine to be a bit slack.
That is actually a very good point, and one that I have thought a lot about before. Once you have learned the rules of good horse management, and WHY certain things are done, then you are in a better position to decide which corners are safe to cut on days when you are short of time. You know which things are done purely for appearance, and which things can compromise safety, hygiene and horse welfare.
