Hello all,
I'm doing a little local show tomorrow. I've decided to do some of the jumping classes, but I was wondering what equitation was, and if eligible to do it?
any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks

Equitation (I think) is like a ridden showing class but rather than the judge judging your horse they judge your riding. :-)

Hello,

I've resurrected this very old thread as am hoping to do a senior working equitation class at a local show over the Easter weekend, I think I competed once in a class as a child. Are Hanging Cheek bits allowed or is it just plain snaffles? Thanks! :-)

Yes, Hanging Cheeks are allowed.

Good luck!

Madam Min is it a Working Equitation class? that is a particular discipline (the RS I go to is very into it) - I think it will be very different from a more general Equitation class. If you google Working Equitation you will find out about it.

No, just an ordinary equitation class, "working" was a typo, stupid phone!

Unless the schedule states otherwise, you can use any bit, the judge may drop marks for some bits, but the rules vary from show to show.
