Well there are a few local shows this summer and we want to take Bella to some, but there are a few things we want to know as it's our first time showing.
What do you have to do in Riding Horse classes?
What is a Barren Mare?
What is classed as a Hunter, and what do you have to do in Hunter classes?
thanks :)

In RH you will have to show walk, trot and canter in a group as well as an individual show. The judge may also ride. Its best to check exactly with the secretary.

A Barren mare is one who has not had a foal - but I've never seen a showing class for them.

For working hunter you will have to jump and show some gallop strides as well as the above. The tack and rider dress is different too.

Good luck!

Ok thankyou :)
Bella has had a foal, so does she not count? She's not in foal now though.
Yeah, theres quite a few classes for them, all inhand.
I thin i'll enter Riding Horse with her, doing fancy dress (I have no idea what we're going as yet haha) and my sister is doing Ridden Coloured on her.
thanks

You can do the barren mare class provided your mare is not in foal or does not have a foal at foot so you will be fine.

Oh ok :) Will enter that too then.
So is a barren mare basically a mare. As in not in foal/does not have foal at foot? *is dim* :D
