Just a bit curious as to why?, I hope to end up in research. Is it because it is a bit of catch 22 situatuion.

I`m on a year out at the moment working part time and have a share in a lovely horse.

Right now I am a student - for money I drive a horse and carriage on tours of Boston, and also do research at the local Children's hospital.

I used to work in Staffing, but now I just want to work with horses, not sure what aspect yet though!

Part time (Full time in 2007) supervisor of Visitor Centre of well known Horse Sanctuary, husbands secretary, BD judge., lorry driver, groom, housekeeper etc etc...

Used to work part time at a busy RS/livery yard teaching the beginner lessons, hack escorts etc (not just a poo shoveller)

Was Sales Director for our family business, then I got pregnant and we had to do some high speed recruitment and training. LOL. Handed that job on to my Sister although she still has to report to me

Took on someone new to do her job.

Tried to be SAHM but got really bored. Not taxing enough on the brain.

Now I am part time and I don't really know what you would call the job but I am basically trawling through every department of the business seeing what can be improved, double checking everything, where can we save money, where we can make more etc. I must admit it is kind of fun trying to do that with baby crawling around on the office floor next to me. Luckily a lot of it is the kind of work I can take home with me and do when little un is asleep.

I have to admit to fully enjoying this job as I am a nosey bugger and so this suits me down to the ground

I also love my job as we employ some of the lovliest people and we girls love the summer time when we get to oggle at a handful of rather fit topless men (You have to close your eyes to the majority of not so pretty ones,,,,ooh is that sexist

Research is full of politics and unless you are an arrogant a*se then you won't progess very far. Also there are very few permanent jobs most of it is work on grants so you have to keep applying for mony so there is little security. Plus I hate being in the lab!

It is however different in different research institutions, I have just had a bad experience - I am sure there are good ones!
