What do you do??? ride or wait!!

I still ride when it is hot or my horse wouldnt get ridden and would get rather large i just make sure i give him plenty of breaks and give a good hose down after..he is fine with it
 
i ride regardless. schooling sessions maybe slightly shorter and have longer breaks so we can chill out in the shade for a bit, i like them to be OK in the heat as if they need to compete they have to be used to it!

the flies drive me more nuts than the heat!
 
I wait.

I am busy during the day anyway and I can ride with my friends in the evening, as well as it being more comfortable for both me and the pony!
 
I ride whatever time i reach the yard at regardless of weather! I sometimes ride at 7.30 am, sometimes lunchtime, sometimes 8pm ... The arenas in our yard are used for lessons so we can only use it at certain times which sucks but aw well :) I must say i love riding in the rain lmao and splashing through puddles :) im weird
 
At the moment, in the evening as it's more pleasant & I get more done in the day. If I could only ride during the day, I would regardless.
 
i have eczema and the heat really affects it. If i am struggling with my eczema and it is hot i will ride in evening, if it is bearable i will defo do it in day as i have more time. So it is only my eczema that restricts us. :(
 
Oh I definitely wait.I hate the heat with a passion - well it doesn't like me.I really don't cope well with it and am like a bear with a sore head so not a good combination if mare has a strop.
And she doesn't like it either.
 
I usually ride at 7am anyway so no change there :) If I get the chance to ride later in the day it is usually the flies rather than the heat that stops me
 
Have the whole yard to ride and exercise so can't just wait till last minute really.
I generally ride whatever, I love the sun so it doesn't bother me plus they get daily cold power hosing sessions which they seem to enjoy after!

Granted...last couple of days the horse flies have been AWFUL so have held off riding till 3pm occasionally and riding a couple first thing.
But the heat itself doesn't affect me riding-wise. Only the damn horse flies!
 
Ride anytime. I only get to ride in the evening anyway in the week due to WORK so for all of you that have the quandry about riding during the day, thank yourself lucky it's a decision you need to make! Weekends, i'm up at the stables first thing to beat most of the heat, due mainly to fact i'm blonde and fair skinned and no amount of sunscreen can save me from the pink arms, white everything else look!!
