What do you do when its frosty?

I put on a jumper and make sure I don't forget my gloves. And that is all I do differently :p

Horses are out anyway. They get straw in the field but not masses of it and they've been standing out with the frozen grass beforehand anyway so they just have to deal with it.

Since he's now stabled overnight I'll give him some hay to line his stomach when he goes out on frosty ground. Prior to this (when he lived out 24/7/365) I wouldn't change anything.

Nothing other than usual except break ice on water, top up hay net and wait to ride until less icy. Just returned from fab ride now ground thawed out. Lami not a problem for mine so I am lucky.

My Welsh A stays in when it's frosty- we had alot of problems last summer with his insides- basically worm migration which caused toxin induced lamintis/azoturia etc. He nearly died, so I wont risk it. I'll graze him inhand later on grass that has thawed.

The 2 horses go out first thing after a (fibre based) feed. They have Haylage out and will probably come in a little earlier than normal.
