what do you do when you go on holiday...?

As the title quotes...what do you do when you go away...who looks after your animals...?

My YO (not that my horse is at the yard any more, but she's in a local field with YO's daughter's youngster who I look after, so if I go away then YO will do them both). However YO seems to be going away a lot at the moment, and I do her horses for her!

Mine are on full livery during the week so nothing really changes apart from it's 7 days rather than 5. I like it this way as their routine doesn't get changed.

My horses are kept at home and I pay someone to come in and see to them when I go away.

I go away for an overnight occasionally and mum does the horses, but haven't been away for longer than that for ages.

I put my two lads in full livery at a yard about an hour and a half away from me...

If both me and my sister are away a friend pops in everyday to check them, fill water, give hay, check for injuries etc (they are usually living out). If just one of us is away then we look after each others horses.

If it's just for a weekend then my mum looks after them. If it's any longer than they go on full livery at the yard through the week, and the YO spoils them rotten.

YO does them, move them onto full livery. Expensive but it's worth it for the peace of mind!

YO does them as we move them onto full livery, exercise wise they are on working livery anyway

We rarely go away on holiday but on the odd occasion we do its always in the UK so OH horse comes with us. YO looks after daughters ponies.

My Aunt looks after mine when I'm away. It's also where Athena lives, so I'm dead luck really

If its just for 1 or 2 nights one of the liverys looks after Cropi for me but if its a proper holiday then I pay a lovely girl who does mobile livery services to come and do her for me twice a day. It works out about £7.50 a day, not sure how that compares with full livery???? Cropi is happy though, she frets when I go away so I would not want her moved and any more distress caused. She also gives her kisses and cuddles too
