As title really looking for opinions on what you do when you get well and truly drenched as me and my saddle have never been this wet :/

I saddle soap it, then when it is slightly damp put lots of tack conditioner on it - I use LeatherGenie.

Let the leather dry naturally - don't put it in front of a heater, or in direct sunlight or the leather will dry out too quickly and harden. Once it's dry just clean normally. If you treat your leather regularly with a good oil/conditioner (NOT neatsfoot!) it should repel most of the wet anyway.

This is what I usually do as tack is cleaned/conditioned every 2-3 days, but just hoping it drys quickly as have a show tommorow so its currently in the conservatory in hope that thatll help it dry quicker.

It did repel some of the water but the way the rain came down it had no chance as went through my waterproof coat in under 2 mins before we ran and hid in the stable.

well i ride in synthetic. bridle when it rains so leater does not get wet. also have synthetic saddle but normally my coat covers learher one so its ok

I suggest you ( meaning anyone) get a synthetic bridle for when it rains. 😃

Thank you littlelegs fab idea :)

Not to bothered on the bridle front as I have just bought her 2 new bridles as that one is natty but never ever will i swap to a synthetic saddle as I massively dislike them. Also didn't expect it to rain quite like that as was blue skies before, my field was flooded within minutes :( which never usually floods.
