Hey just wondered what do you do with your horses poo from the field? I have been mucking out my horses field and just been piling it all in one place and now seem to have a huge pile of poo! Not that great since it is really in the way and smelly! Plus the dogs have started digging in it!

Someone has told me to burn it. Do you burn it? If you do how often?
Please share your advice if not my pile is going to get even bigger and Im just going to be living in a pile of poo! x

i dont know if it burns? That is why I thought I would ask! Dont really have the room to have a big muck heap so think I would have to ask a farmer to come regularly. My parent know 1 local farmer well but dont know if he would or want to come so regularly?

Not only is it illegal to burn it,but also potentially dangerous. I give ours away to gardeners, but you can ask a farmer to remove it.

I keep my horse at my neighbours and rent a 2 acre field off him he did say he would harrow the field for me as he does this for the paddok he loans out but i dont really want to do this because he doen't do it that regularly and the other field is a mess and surely thats just spreading worms about when he harrows it.

I am sitting looking at my window looking at my pile of poo and getting a bit F****d off coz th edogs are playing it again! AAAAARRRRGGGGGHH

I should point out, before anyone thinks I'm doing something morally wrong, that the cow fields also belong to us.

I fling the pooh over and hubby harrows it a few times a year. He says there's no point me barrowing it back to the yard when all he does is spread it on the fields anyway.

You could do with a nice big trailer that you could barrow into and then either take it to a farm to tip it out or ask the farmer to hitch up to it and remove it when it's full.

Well i did think of that ideas my partner is a carpenter and has his own comapny so there are always trailers about but im not sure if he would be happy to let me fill one up with poo! Ill hav a look at his workshop and see if he has any about he is not using.

Surely he would rather me do that than have it sitting in our garden! x

Sombody posted awhile ago and said they made it into bricks dried them and then used them for fuel on their fire.

I've thought about doing the dried brick thing and then advertising it but not sure how time consuming it would (Have little time).

We put ours on a muck heap and luckily we have people asking for their gardens through friends and word of mouth, I still have two trailer loads to deliver now.

my old boss used to go out with a can of petrol and a blow torch and burn the muck heap itwas a bit scary! at the yard i'm on livery at now the farmer comes to take it away twice a yr to spread on his fields

Our poo and shavings get taken away and made into bricks. How's that for recycling?
