Once you've removed it, how do you dispose of it?

ETA - other than the muckheap (goats/pigs etc walk over our muck heap every day and horses have access to one side of it too)

I dont throw it in the muck heap, as that goes off for muck spreading when the local farmer collects it.

I collect it in a large feed sack (or shavings bag) which I keep nr the muckheap, then when the opportunity arises I have a bonfire.

Burning is best :) tho you could take it to the local dump?

We burn it or put it in our green bin for the council to collect.

Do you mean the bin for garden waste?

You shouldn't put it in there as the contents of that bin goes away to be broken down into compost - and so therefore the ragwort would be getting spread - which is illegal.

best to burn it.

And don't put it on the muck heap either as that gets spread on the land and so spreads the ragwort.

Ragwort can be composted, as long as it is done properly. I don't understand why horseowners don't know this when DEFRA makes plenty of information available. Go to defra.gov.uk and download the leaflet 'Guidance on the disposal options for common ragwort'.

It's the same site where you got your copy of the Code of Practice.

You do have a copy of the Code of Practice don't you?
