What do you do with your rosettes?

So I'm lucky enough to have quite a few rosettes. Admittedly they range from a Reserve Champion all the way down to "thanks for taking part" and the majority are 3rds onwards but still, I am proud of them all We no longer compete so I don't expect to add to them, and I have roughly 50 rosettes from three ponies over 12 years.

At the moment I have a wire frame on the sloped ceiling that they all live on but I'm not sure I would want to do this when I move house later this year. I don't know whether to put them all in storage, or throw them away/donate them or maybe just keep a few special ones (that would be them all then!). I guess maybe I could photograph them before getting rid..

What do you all do?

Don't throw them away! Every once in a while I come across the bag with all mine in and it's really nice looking back and laughing at how I got them etc. I can't for a lot of them but for a select few I can remember exactly when/where I got them - some of them are from absolute years ago and with horses I no longer own. It's nice to have memories from them!

I've been thinking about having some of mine framed, a bit like this:

I usually display iin the kitchen up until Christmas, when they come down and the decorations go up.

I have a couple of boxes and look through them sometimes, remembering past horses. I think they will have to go in my coffin - cheerful, eh?

am also wondering what to do with mine. At my old house I had the firsts and any other " interesting" ones hung on string around the sitting room, about the level of a picture rail. Since moving in with OH I don't think that's acceptable any more
I have bags full as I've kept them all since I was a kid. I hand back anything I get at unaffiliated shows now to avoid adding to the numbers. Wish I could think of a good way to keep and display them (tidily). I might investigate making one of those quilts that some people have started doing.

I do this, I know where each & every one of them is from :lol: plus the % for dressage tests.

Absolutely! Never throw mine away- i have a few boxes under the bed full of them and it is nice to reminisce on old times All my "newly acquired" ones get pinned up anywhere around the house, book shelf, on bedroom mirror etc. xx

I have my "worked hard to get" or real achievement/ proud of rosettes hung on two pictures in our bedroom (one picture is photos from the Trailblazers final and the other a hand painting of me at my first show with first horse who I still have). The others I've given away to friends' young kids who are into ponies and also I think RDA can make use of them by putting their own stickers over the top of the centre part.

I went to a friend's the other day and she had her daughters rosettes displayed in tall vases, just positioned with the 'face' of the rosette facing out - wish I had take a picture as it is difficult to visualise, obviously you can't see the tails, but it made a really attractive display, the bigger the vase the better and it doesn't take up too much room

I love the idea of putting them into a long vase - trip to ikea planned for me now!

I also still write the horses name, date and height of class or DR % on the back - lovely to look back through them when you have some time.

Is it just me that loves getting them still?! All my old horses ones are boxed up, and my current boys are all in a box (recently moved) and I'm planning on running a wire along the very top of one of my room walls to hang them on - have currently got the last few hanging on a radiator! Still put name and dates on them too - I think they are all achievements (ie make a nice change from coming last!)

Another who writes the details on the back. Most of mine are in boxes in the loft with a few extra special ones still displayed. Current ones go up for the year won in. Used to have more on display but OH wanted some room for some of his stuff!!! I have seen rosettes and sashes made in to cushions which look really good.

Some I hang on string in the cab of the horsebox on the back wall, I have some small corner shelves in my kitchen and have arranged some nice ones on there, I was thinking of getting a small dresser and putting my nice showing pictures and rossettes in it, a friend of mine has done this in her front room and her dining room and it really looks lovely, the frame and vase are both really good ideas might try that too.

I originally had mine pinned onto a cork notice board. Bought a nice big display board online last year so now all of the boys' rosettes are on display in my office at home.
The specials/clear rounds/old ones go in a Tupperware box once I run out of room.

wench, if you just bin the rosette why the hell bother winning them, stay at home and let someone who wll appreciate it have them.

I buy enormous picture frames from the Range and a sheet of wire mesh from B&Q, then hang my rosettes from it. Picture frames then go on the wall either in the front room or upthe stairs.

My current horse hasnt got enough for his own frame yet so his are up on the wall in the lorry untill I win some more.

I used to have little shows with very tiny entry fees. I bought new centres for my rosettes and gave them. I gave up doing them when H&S became warlords, I was too scared of someone breaking a finger nail. Pity, because everyone used to really enjoy them.

I have them in my study most of the special ones are on cork boards the rest I used to make a sort of frieze under my bit cupboard ( it's in my study) and pinned along the bottom of a long heavy high up shelf .
My study has a manic horsey theme so they look fun I have my sidesaddle in there and my childhood rocking horse and my fox pj case from school.

I always write on the back of my rosettes I have ones that are fifty years old .

We don't get rosettes here, sashes instead. I have a flat type of basket on the book case that they get dropped into, but when that gets too full they go to the local pre school or kindergarton for the childrend to use in craft projects. Better than the bin.

I have trown away all my rosettes and medals and cups from when I was at ponyclub.
I moved out of my parents house and didn't see the need of keeping them.

Having returned to competing about 3 years ago I now love my rosettes and keep them in the hallway with some pics of our 3 horsies!

I have some of mine on a couple of pieces of finger knitting hanging down boring bits of wall/corner and my freind bought me a grid with my horses name on it for Christmas one year

I'm going to be laying mine all out then taking a high quality photos, this will then be printed out poster size at a 1 to 1 ratio and going on my kitchen wall. I'm probably going to do 2 30*40 inch prints to get then all in.

I've wondered about what to do with mine too. I've got years worth of rossettes pinned up in my hay store at my mothers house (where 2 of my horses still remain), she's selling soon so I'll need to take them all down and I have no idea what to do with them as I can't bring myself to throw them but I already have loads of boxes full! I wondered if a company makes them into things, like I've seen someone on facebook makes champ sashes into cushions, I wonder if same could be done with my rossettes???

I am going to select a few special ones and put them in a shadow box. The rest I will put away into storage. If I don't miss them, I will eventually donate them. I also used to write on the backs, but I suspect there are a few which are blank.

Our local club re use them by putting new centers in them, mine I just keep in a old rug clear bag or in a trunk
