I just wondered really.

What do you do with your tb’s? Are they OTTB or have they never raced? Do people even still have non-OTTB’s these days?!

So far this year we’re transitioning to barefoot, had a bad back from a bad saddle and now we’re undergoing (well, more him than me :D) treatment for ulcers. So finally, finally in the next few weeks I might actually be able to start working my horse properly! I just have no idea what I want to do with him, it will be hard work but IMO he has potential!

So pictures of what you do with your tb’s please! Whether it be *** eventing or pottering round the block!

Everything really! Mine's ex flat racer, stopped racing in 2004 I think and I got him a year ago in June :)

He's a sweety really bless him, hoping to do a bit of fun RoR with him at a few counties possibly this year...won't get anywhere probably but just want to have fun with him!
He gets dragged out on funrides, XC, SJ, hacks, lessons, shows, etc. Plus hunting this season coming with any luck! :D
Has the odd TB moment on very rare occasions [like OMG > Shadow! *spook* Haha] but otherwise is a darling bless him, little kids even jump him every now and then.

Mine came to me very underweight so she spent her first month eating, being lead on walks, and having lots of cuddles :) She then got a new saddle and started learning riding horse things as opposed to racehorse things. We spent 3 months getting her fit, starting with walking, progressing to roadwork and hillwork, trotting, etc. She is now a field ornament when I can't catch her, but most of the time a lovely girly in training for BE :)

My boyfriend has just learnt to ride on her, she hacks, jumps, schools (sort of) and competes, and does it all very calmly :D We are hoping to hunt her next season and possibly do some R2R over the summer. She is very inquisative and cheeky too so spends a lot of time looking like a naughty schoolgirl.

India never raced, just straight out of training! She is a bit of a loon but I love her all the same. We have done a few sponsored rides, hunting and she is now on an intensive pessoa programme to concentrate her mind a bit more on what is required of a normal horse :)

Hopefully she will be eventing this time next year :)

Ok here we have a thread which shows lots of TB's lying down. Sleepy can do that too :)

Just getting him used to not being a racehorse and he's doing very well. Moving up to SJ with him and he seems to be a jumping machine. Will bulldoze anything under 18" but flies over the bigger stuff. Good grief I need to up my game.

Just come off field turnout after bad back/back saddle combo poor boy. Yes he's had physio and there's a new farrington on the way.

What else do I do with him? just enjoy being with him and pottering around...

I have a 9yo ex racer, who did race, but turned out not as good as expected (bought for £500k as a yearling) as he seemed to prefer being at the back and hacking home so to speak
I haven't had him long, but have been enjoying getting to know him, schooling, hacking and a bit of SJ. Will be getting out and about a lot this summer, hoping to event him :)

Dressage, SJ and a bit of showing :) I'd love to event a little, but I live in the wrong country, so not for now. :) And yep, he's an ex-racer.

And one showing. This is the only time I've ever managed to get a pelham in his mouth, and only because his feeding has gone totally wrong and was getting about 1/3 of what he needed..thus couldn't be bothered to rear in protest as he always has before and still does now when his snaffle is changed to anything else:

Hattie decided to injure herself last week so we are not doing anything at the moment but usually we do a bit of everything although we mostly do side saddle now. She has a Weatherby's passport but has never been raced.

We started jumping side saddle a few weeks ago and did our first diddy side saddle clear round last Sunday at the South Kilworth show!

She gets bored doing one thing so sometimes I have to put a jump in the school and incoporate that when we are practicing a dressage test or else she gets sour. I have to keep things mixed up with her.

God i so know this one. Even if it's just a couple of poles on the floor just to keep the hope up in him that he might be doing summin interesting...

mine does everything... very badly mind, gets eliminated or comes last, but you can have a go at anything with him.

Not sure if he is a full tb or not tho, hes not registered with weatherbys, but he looks full!

I own a 15.1hh TB who was too small for racing. He is national hunt bred and was broken at 3 and a half. We currently working on our flat work and he will be doing is first dressage competition in a few weeks time. My plans for him is to go up a few levels of dressage (as for a TB is quite a good mover) and showjumping.

No pics of him on this computer but will post aome later
