what do you feed your dogs?

Mini schnauzer gets Burns fish & brown rice flavoured dry food or Nutro-something, again a dry food. She isn't allowed too much protein
Working labrador gets Feedwell working dog mix and BG tin dog food, not sure what make

Mine's a JRT pup (5 1/2 months) he's on james welbeloved puppy kibbles (will go on to adults once this bag finishes) in the mornings and Raw dog meat (BARF Type) or Nature menu (cooked) in the evenings.

Our getting toothless, deaf and amnesiac Patterdale has soaked senior complete dry stuff, supplemented by whatever foul and disgusting things she picks up from the farm next door and a neighbour's lawn. The other day it was a dead goldfish and some sheep cleansing. Bloody thing keeps running off and is deaf so no longer comes to call.

hi,

I have RR x Kelpie and she is fed roo meat and a small bowl of biscuits.

She is enourmous and I think that she is going to take more to the RR side than the kelpie - she is almost twice the size of her mum !!

I have a 2 year old collie x lurcher. She is fed on James Wellbeloved Adult food. We tried her on Bakers when we first got her but it upset her stomach.

TGM - have heard bad things about bakers - which prob explains upset stomach...

My 13 week old lab puppy gets:
James Wellbeloved puppy biscuits with Naturediet puppy (wet food) and a little olive oil (he had a bit of scurf that has now gone since the oil) also to help him put on a bit of weight as he is a little underweight.

He also gets - occasionally:
tin of sardines in oil
raw eggs
raw meaty bones
cooked chicken & chicken liver
Raw carrots

he is currently on 4 meals a day, but will go down to three soon...

plan to swap the james wellbeloved to burns biscuits soon too..

GH - Breakfast: Two weetabix, in winter with hot water in summer with cold water

my Whippet - pedigree chum chicken & vegetables dry food. Morning and evening.

snacks - anything she finds in the bin (plastic/cardboard/raw vegetables/fruit) oh, and she likes the stuffing from inside pillows

minature snauchzer (sp!) - pedigree chum chicken & vegetables dry food.

no snacks for him as hes porky!!

We've always kept our dogs on the pedigree chum dry food and they've all always eaten it all and we've never had any problems with it.

I've got 3 GSDs, their main diet is green tripe (straight from the slaughter house - yuk) but they love it and have fed it for years with no problems. The oldie (12) has a small meal of Oscars senior complete for breakfast, the other 2 have a handful of maintenance at breakfast so they don't feel left out. When I used to breed used to feed the in whelp bitches a higher protein complete, and used to wean puppies on to beta puppy feed.

Cocker spaniel and a collie 7 and 6 years. Both have ad lib tesco complete dry dog food (exactly the same as Bakers but in their own packaging so cheaper). Access to food and water at all times and both are ideal weight.

If I cook rice for us I do extra and the dogs have some as well plus they have raw veg if Im peeling or chopping something for dinner (not potato). They pick fruit from the garden, normally pears and strawberries.

Both will eat cat poo if Im not quick with the litter tray and the collie has a thing about Ginger Nut biscuits.

Good point! What we feed our dogs and what they would like to eat are so different. Morgan has a real taste for horse poo, and would happily live on it if allowed. She will eat anything that falls from the worktop during food preparation, and eats whole hazelnuts but spits out the shell... The cats are very find of Dodson and Horrell Mare and Youngstock Mix...

Gordon Setter x - 1.5 mugs of Pedro Complete w/ hot water and cod liver oil
JRT crosses - 1 mug of Pedro Complete w/ hot water
Collie x - anywhere between nothing and 3 mugs of pedro depending on where she's been during the day and who else has fed her

this is very similar to what i feed my lab.
He never has a set diet and I try to vary it as much as possible with a mixture of nature diet bones and tinned fish. It seems to suit his delicate tummy!!

I have a miniature schnauzer called Zak!!!
We feed him Beta dog food but we have to feed him the big dry chunks coz otherwise he swallows it whole!!!

2 cavalier king charles: Bakers complete for brekkie and either pedigree meat, our meat or fish in oil with veg/rice/pasta for tea. Snacks they get pedigree milky bones and dental chews.

Our old dog was also a cavalier and we always had problems with her weight (even as a pup her breeders called her fatty!) so she could never eat what these 2 eat without becoming ginormous! Its so nice having healthy, active dogs!

Both of my dogs were on Burns and doing very well on it too !
Unfortunately it has proved impossible to guarantee supply here on the Island so now ...

Dobermann: RCV Digestive Low Fat (Pancreatitis) @ 200gms three times a day, doing very well
GSD : RCW German Shepherd @ 100gms three times a day , I'm not convinced on this one though !

Winalot meat and biscuits. She will get any scraps from supper or lunch though if any are left. She is a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier.

two BCs (7 and 4 years old ) and a little 17 year, old mixed salad, she hates being called a mongral !.All are fed on lamb and rice dry mix once a day. Thats amply made up with hen, goose, goat, cat and horse poo. Horse and hen feed goes down a treat too.Their idea of heaven is when the blacksmith comes to shoe. Hoof parings seem to be doggy caviar
