Hi got a 4 month old collie pup, her previous owners fed her beef mince and puppy buscuits so I have been giving her the same morning and night and just biscuits at lunch, she's getting BETA puppy/junior biscuits. She seems to like them but isn't over keen on the mince, and its quite a hassle cooking it. I'm tempted to just feed her the biscuits as they are a complete food but worried she might need some meat. Also she doesn't seem to do many no 2s (about 2 a day) and sometimes seems a bit constipated, have started to add abit of water to her food which seemed to help.
I would love to know what you lot feed yours.
Thanks!
Liz.

She will be absolutely fine on just the puppy food. They are designed as a complete feed, in fact you might upset her system by adding meat. Have never known of a dog constipated on a diet of complete, it is usually the opposite. Presume you have been feeding it dry, does she always have access to drinking water? Although my adults are on part soaked, part dry complete , I always soak the pups food. As you are already adding a bit of water perhaps try leaving the food to soften a bit before you feed her. Hope this helps.

Don't have puppies myself but my sister has 3 generations of raw fed dogs and the puppies are fed chicken wings and raw meat/mince, offal and a small amount of fruit and veg, then as they get older chicken carcasses and lamb bones are introduced. The bitches will usually throw up for the puppies at quite a young age, something they never did on sack food, they also fed the puppies milk up to about 10 weeks of age with no weight loss.

My pup is fed Beta puppy. She was on this before I got her, a happy coincedence as my older dog is on Beta feeds too, and it is a feed I have always been happy with. I don't add anything to it, just a little water. She is fed twice a day and is thriving

I would second the previous advice given and soak the feed for a while to soften it for your little pup. Hope this helps.
