What do you HATE about your yard?

School doesnt get levelled unless I go over it with a pitch folk which takes forever and gives you a bad back the next day.

same and everyone lunges at one end and the other end the lights don't work so if schooling in the dark you either have light and firm surface or nice surface and you can't see what you're doing. Also people never remobing poo from the arena because they turn out in it as they can't be arsed to walk to play pen.

Also the dotty 60+ woman with the unbacked rising 5yo arab who weaves, bites, kicks and chews my poor little ex-ponie's rugs, chases my dogs and the owner leaves the gate to the field open so one night my pony was found wandering up the yard!

There are more but I will not go on - it's much nicer than my old yard and everyone else up there is lovely, the YM is very sweet and all the other horses are adorable.

I hate the first three weeks of December when strange people can be found wandering around our yard with massive xmas trees attached to their heads and when I am expected to hide my horses away. Where I'm not sure, but I have a few suggestions for her!!

That it takes me over an hour to get to

Don't HATE anything. A few things I would change would be to make the menage not have the deep bits it has, to make it cheaper for the sake of my poor parents... and to change the 2 muddy winter paddocks into woodchip paddocks. I know that the latter will come with time and funds, so not too worried about that, but I am so paranoid about menage surface now that the menage thing stresses me.

Both pretty minor though and other than that, I like most things

i like my yard nothing i hate but if i was going to be really picky i would say lack of turnout but i knew that when i moved so not a problem.

At the moment the horse walker keeps not working! Everytime its fixed, a day or two later its broke again and it started breaking after only like 18months of use or something.

Hate is a strong word to use I think but i'd say I dislike the fact that the paddocks are as far away from the yard as they are. And that the hacking around there isnt that great. I also wish it was cheaper but dont we all!

I don't hate anything about my yard, but there are a couple of things that are less than convenient - mainly that we only have 8 stables on a yard of 18 (soon to be 19) horses. This isn't too much of a problem at nights, because a lot of the animals there are tough little native ponies who live out all year round anyway so we only need 8 horses in overnight, but it is a pain during the day when you have ten horses that need bringing in for worming or it's raining and you want to groom and tack up without getting soaked. I'm very lucky to have access to an outdoor school with floodlights and a good surface, but in an ideal world the liveries would be able to use it more... however, the riding school clients come first because that's where most of the money comes from!

There isn't anything I don't like at my yard either (same yard as Kat's). I'd like it if they'd thought to lag the pipes when the forecast said it would freeze overnight...but that's a VERY minor whinge. We don't have mud, or bitching, or nasty liveries, and the roof in MY stable block doesn't leak.

Hi nice yard everyone is lovely , but horses are kept in twos in paddocks so when i take mine out other one goes mad and i feel guilty about riding so im not riding just putting her out, if the other owner takes her horse out mine goes bonkers and i am at work gettting texts that my horse is loosing it , she is on a hill and i worry about her hurting herself or ripping tendons ,

I hate it that there is no vehicle access to the yard in winter. That means that when the farrier comes I have to hold the horses up near the main road (not the safest thing to do - and standing for three hours in the pouring rain like I did last night, isn't ideal!) and I have no-where to load the horse.
Apart from that I love it! It is only me and the YO and we get on brilliantly, it's as cheap as chips - £30 a month for stable and grazing so can't moan really!

well i love my yard

only minor moans are about other people lacking consideration for everyone else i.e. not poo picking the arena which leads to it getting locked for eveyone

oh and booking out the school and then not using it. now everyone forgets to cancel once in a while but certain people seem to do this regularly- how hard is it to just cross your name out?!!

otherwise its great, accomodating YO, nice turnout, lovely arena, lovely stables etc....
