Hi All,

I am trying to think ahead to when we are going from Summer to Winter... and I need a decent rug which is a good step up from a rain sheet, but not quite a middleweight. The shape of the Amigo/Rambo rugs fit my boy really well so any suggestions of a similar shape would be greatly appreciated. I can't seem to find an Amigo/Rambo that is a step up from a rainsheet?

Thanks,

Fiona

Premier Equine do a rug with 70g in - you can get the detachable neck for it too. Amigo's fit my pony well but this one was fine just a little deep but he's growing into it! Lovely rugs but they do come up big.

Last winter we used Saxon middleweight rugs for our brat pack, our old 27yr old had a fleece underneath, but the other two just had the saxon turn out rugs on and were as warm as toast, so warm we had them rugless when in for the night, it was so cold in our stables, the poo froze, yet the horses were fine, they weren't clipped though. We intend getting more new ones this year, since the saxon rugs did get slightly destroyed over the winter.

I have a couple of rhinos for sale. What size and weight are you looking for?

I have recently bought my old girl a rambo duo which I plan to use on her without a liner, as it is a 100gm rug in itself :)

I need a 6ft 6, and something with not too much fill in it.. a step up from a rainsheet, but not a middleweight (i have the middleweight amigo) xx

I have one of these which I would highly recommend. They do have a 6'6" in stock in the medium/lite (which is what I have, 100g fill):

However you may find that if Amigos fit your horse well, the Weatherbeeta comes up a little bigger around the shoulders (at least that seems to be my experience).

It's a nice quality rug which is warmer than a rainsheet but not too warm at all. I really like the fit on my girl. :)

Ah, yes, I had the same problem - needing something between no fill and 200gms. I wish they'd do a 100gm rhino.

As I say, I bought the Duo to use without liners as it's 100gms, but there is also the Rambo california which is a 100gm rug from horsewear. :)
