If security was not an issue, what do/would you leave in your lorry?? Eg. show hats, jackets etc

Also, just bought a new lorry (lots of spare space) which i'm looking forward to 'kitting out' any good idea's on storage, or any other nifty idea's on things I might need!

So miss my little lorry! spare grooming kit/show jacket/hat/schooling whip/first aid kit/teabags/cups/washing up liquid/mirror/liquid soap/spare headcollar and rope/blanket/spare rug/vetwrap and horse first aid/maps/
It was lovely to have all my stuff ready to go, I miss it so much, when will i ever get the money to replace it? I have a shogun and a borrowed trailer but its not the same

I have virtually a spare everything in my lorry! Usually have a set of reins and spare numnah and girth in case of emergencies. Lunge line in case of a tricky loading moment. All show gear (jackets, stocks, stock pins etc), my smart show boots stay in the lorry too. My rarely used beagler lives in there too (a a preference to it getting mucky in the tack room!). I also have brushes, spare whips and at least one coat in case of cold /wet.

Oh and broom, shovel and tub trug to act as a skip when out and about :). There is a LOT of stuff in my lorry lol ;)

first aid kit
spare show jacket
spare hat/gloves
hay bags/nets
stable organiser
water buckets
travel boots/tail guards
travel headcollars
towels
hand soap
lunge whip
steps - good for mounting/tying hay nets/ fixing plaits
hair nets and spare stock
short crop

I've found that using trailer ties really helpful - one of mine gets really excited when loading and the tie saves me faffing around trying to tie him up. :o

everything else I pack the night before :)

Oooh yes - trailer ties are a brilliant idea. If you don't want to buy trailer ties, then you can use a leadrope and just leave it tied (to suitable breakable string oc) to the tie point.

Large amounts of alcohol; spares of pretty much everything; chocolate, hot chocolate, marshmallows and squirty cream if there is anyone under 35 travelling with us; hip flasks; bedding for humans; food for horse and human; show gear for humans; first aid kit for human and horse; medicinal alcohol; buckets; binoculars; camera; passports; lorry docs; spare booze; you name it, it's in there

that pretty much sums up my crazy uncles lorry!

sadly we had to down size from our 7.5 to a trailer and i miss it every day loved our old bedford to bits

Nothing I don't want gypsies to have or to see on Ebay next week! Hahahah.

Hahahaha love it! Luckily we are very secure and pretty much no way they could get in there ;) Too much effort when there's gallons of diesel, tractors and quad bike's beside it....oh and they'd have to walk through my garden about half a meter away from my bedroom window or through the bull pen to get to it ;) :D

Hi-Viz waistcoats for people, in the cab not the living. Hi-Viz wrapround sheets for horses and lots and lots of clip on lights in red and white. Echo pretty much what everyone else has said re first aid and spares. There was no padding on our bench seat, so I made a ginormous cushion cover and used two duvets to stuff it, to make it sittable on, but they can be used for warmth if needed.

I leave a variety of coats, hi viz vests incase of breakdown. I leave the makings for Tea & Coffee & also have cans of pop & biscuits/chocolate. Mucking out stuff, lead ropes, headcollars, a generator, a few fleece rugs & a rain sheet. I have a safe in the lorry & I keep my horse passports in there incase I ever have to produce them when travelling.

All tack & show clothing etc is loaded up on the day of the show. Apart from ensuring seciruty of the stuff things can get damp in a lorry & I don't want mildewetc getting on the leatherwork.

Everything above apart from the safe! I take jacket and posh boots out too, generally as they alway need cleaning. I always carry set of screwdrivers, adjustable spanner, and gaffer tape as these items have all been needed in past emergencies! Congrats on your lorry, you will love not having to clear the car out at the end of the day.

Why didn’t I think of this, thank you! I was trying to work out the cheapest and easiest way to put foam seating on mine as the seat is in the corner and curved, this has solved it.

I think others have covered the basics but you find the more you use it the more things you need and the more that gets left on it!

dee o dorant i am coming with you next time out !!
I keep a basic grooming kit and a container of spare leathers, girths etc. hi viz jacket and breakdown cover details . We take drinks and food with us on the day. we have a spare fleece but everything else goes in on the day

I also have a pack with the plating cert, the insurance and the DVLA stuff, including their download about legal leisure horse transport, breakdown cover stuff and my driving license in it I also put the horse passports in it. I don't leave it in the waggon, but make sure it goes with us each time.

I don't have a lorry, I have a float (horse box/trailer...) and it gets cleaned out at the end of the season so it's empty at the moment but during the show season I have in the float;

Spare grooming kit
coat shine
hoof black
extra plaitting gear
pooper scooper
first aid kit (horse and human)
bailing twine
scissors
torch
spare batteries
a container of water
hay
coffee and milk in a tube
a jack and stuff to change a tyre
baby wipes
saddle soap and leather conditioner
boot polish
spare girth
spare reins
electrical tape
saddle stands
bridle hooks
fly spray
suncream
molasses (for fussy horses who don't like to drink water at events)
recharge (electrolytes for hot days or after XC)
portable yards

everything else gets taken out, cleaned and put in clear plastic boxes for each horse.
All their gear (boots, bits, saddle blankets, plaitting gear, make up, etc) is easy to pick up and pack. I don't have to rummage all over the tack room to find things I need that way :)
