What Do You Like About the New Forum?

You can't see as many posts, so you can't quicky scan over what may interest you etc
Also I can't get my smilies in my post, they always go to the top of the post *confused*

But apart from that, I like it but I must admit I preffered it how it was before...sorry Admin!

I like the layout etc but its seems to be soooo sloooowww at loading up the posts i want to view, not sure if that is just my pc tho?

Not much, I don't find it easier. I was hoping to be positive but I don't think it is much of an improvement. I do like the forum jump button.
It is pathetic that you have to click to reply to a message, on the icon above, why can't you just type directly in the box....
I can't put images in my replies, that bugs me.

mik and Kenzo to get smilies and in=mages in your replies you need to change your settings.:)

Go to User CP - top left - go to Edit Options then scroll down to bottom box (miscellaneous) there is a drop down - the default is basic you need to change it to standard, then click on Save/change button. When you reply you will get a box of smilies to use - if you use QR you will need to click Go Advanced to get all the edit options and smilies - simples!!:D

I like the front page layout but thats it!! I dont like that I have to keep going down and setting it to last thread as i like to read it from new to old not the latest post! every time i read a post i have to reset it!! Grrr

Slinky HELP!!!!!!
Ive tried all the settings in edit options but none display the one i want. I would like the posts in order of them being posted not by which thread was replied on last? Does such a thing exist? Am i editing the right bit? Thanks

I use a lot of boards, and I stopped using HHO cos I got fed up of trying to find threads on it -because it just didn't have the same facilities as other boards- I've missed responses to things I posted cos the thread was buried somewhere in the depths of the board and I always forgot to subscribe to a thread (to used to it happening automatically) and I'd have to trawl through my old posts trying to find the relevant threads ...

I prefer it now. can't see anything wrong with the smilies, and there's always Maze Guy for other smilies :D

IT WORKS!!!!

Keltic - try the display options at the top righ hand corner of a thread - when i open a thread the original post is first and then I click on the 'View first unread' at the top left and it jumps to the first unread post.:)

To find threads either go through the front page and into say soapbox and then find the threads you want to read or just click New Posts which will constantly update with new posts in all sections.:)

HTH:)

I wanted to like it, and I am sure technically it is probably great leaps forward on the old forum, but the page seems really cluttered with too much detail. I miss the red numbers (when they worked!) and I don't think I will be here as much because I am struggling to make sense of it all

The fact that if it went any slower it would stop means that my procrastination skills have reached a whole new level.

Hmmmmmm! Don't see that it is an improvement, it isn't as easy to use as before and as others have said , I don't like the way the posts keep changing their order!

I like it much better. It follows the format of most other boards I've seen and is clear and easy to use.
I'm surprised folk are finding it slow, it certainly isn't for me.
I much prefer the threads with replies coming to the top as they now do. On the old board it was difficult to keep an interesting thread going as it dropped away into oblivion.

I agree with this, means you can have ongoing threads that pop back up rather than numerous new threads about the same thing day after day after day. And if you haven't had an answer to a question you posted you can bump it back up the list by posting on it. I think it is much better.

But can you reduce your siggie a bit please?

You could do that on the old forum too by changing the settings ;)

TBH I haven't found the new forum to be that different to the old one as I had it set to view the maximum number of posts per page, view all threads in flat mode and move active threads to the top.

I couldn't help but notice your name. Are you into Mozart by any chance? I've just recently bought a classical album (very unlike me) and I'm beginning to recognise my Mozart from my Strauss and my Grieg from my Vivaldi. Altho I still think some composers are artists and vice versa. Why couldn't they be called something easier????
