i got my own clippers, but when i had to pay was £18 for a irish/chase clip.
i bought my own as mine gets done at least 3 times a winter and i do my friends (not for money) i say just get the horse some treats
I charge £10 -£20 on ponies and £25-£35 on horses depending on the clip, and if they want the head done, or if they don't have mains power and I have to use the battery ones.
I booked a mobile clipping service people last winter who quoted about £15-20 to do a high trace but unfortunately they couldnt come the weekend I wanted due to a measles outbreak so I got someone who was coming to do another horse on the yard instead. When she was finished doing a high trace for my horse I asked how much to do the cheque for and she charged me £45!!

I know! I feel really stupid for it. She has been to clip two other horses on the yard this year both having high traces too and charged them £35 each!
I dont think the ladies realised that was far too expensive till I told them they could have got full clips for that amount.
I very happily paid £40 for a fantastic full clip (everything but legs off) to my RI. But then, I charge the same to clip a small terrier like hers.
But it was probably the best clip on a horse I've ever seen, smoothest work and horse shone like marble after - so would pay it again and again, personally. Took her about 90 minutes on my rather well behaved Welsh D. Lots of hair, blades resharpened every clip etc, and hot clothed after.
